Small or big wing??

Anyone wanna tip off the aftermarket designers? If they don't make it, I'm going to need to fab my own which is gonna be hella-expensive and hella difficult too.

I'm not a fan of the big wing either, but it is functional in the higher-end speeds. and ya can't compare high end sports cars(like porsche's and such) to the ricers with the big wings. Those cars actually have a need for the wing. 75% of the ricers out there have no need for their wings, they have a need to be noticed. Performance comes after appearance for them

Functional doesn't mean essential. This car is available with a small spoiler and maybe with nothing, which proves my point.

It always cracks me up when kids try to justify something like that by saying it's "functional". Like you're a race car driver. Ok sure. LOL.

A wing like this is like driving around with a sign on your car that says, "I still live with my parents, and I'm hoping this car makes me cool". LOL

The simple point that I'm trying to make here is that it was designed to be a part of the car, and it's there for a reason. I think I can speak for the majority of the buyers here on this board and say that the interest in this car is for its heritage and purpose as a 'street-legal' race car that they CAN race on the weekend if they choose. (The same goes for an STI for those of you who have an interest in it.) To call those people ricers and say they live with their parents is simply absurd.

I have a feeling that Cordwood will be using is Evo to go get his groceries and to drive his wife to the mall. If thats the case, then he'll likely complain that the car rides too harshly for his needs also. He may want to wait for the uprated 2wd Lancer.
He doesn't seem to see the big picture regarding the Evo. This car is meant for auto enthusiasts. People who eat sleep and drink automobiles will be the ones buying this car. People who think a car is used for more than just commuting to and from work will be the ones behind the wheel. I am one of those people.
Many Evo's (hopefully all) will see track duty at some point in their lives....And as soon as this car hits the track, that wing is certainly a useful piece. At 130mph I wouldn't want the rear to be light and loose on my car!
Do Porsche owners take their huge whale tail's off when they pick up a 911? Because in all reality, they aren't likely doing anything with their car that warrants the need for a wing either. But 911's are desiged to be raced, as are Evo's. The wing is a piece of this design.
SC~ whos getting the wing because thats the way it was meant to be

Why they even bothered with the small wing is beyond me. The big wing gives the car character and is sorta the offspring from the WRC car. It lets you know that this is not your average HOT DOG with FWD. Hell the scooby gets a wing like it too. If it were adjustable then the practicality would be even higher. However, too many of us wouldn't know where to begin. Plus there are too many different settings for different tracks.

It's a big loss of character... but also functional.

Then, you better debadge your car also. And change the front end to look like the regular lancers.
