Generally they are called Exhaust manifold. The stock one is VERY god, Port it to make it better. If you wana go nuts I think JIC makes one that is twin Scroll.

if you go to big on the stock turbo your turbo will take forever to spool, i wouldnt touch the exhust manifold , its great in stock form, id worry about other mods first.

Megan Racing makes a really nice one.. I have it on my car with the O2 housing, and I noticably felt a difference when I put it on. The price for both ( On Ebay ) was $275. Don't let the price fool you, the quality is good and I have had no problems yet. Just my 2 cents

This is a link to the website, and info. The price there is over $300, but I bought the exact same one on ebay for $175

Wink

Sounds like its not going to give any better HP number or better spool with stock turbo? Is that correct?

By the way did anyone installed Turbo Outlet Pipe(o2 housing)
I been told it gets better spool up and about 5HP ???

If thats true sounds like a nice mod.

David Buschur did personally testing on a tubular manifold vs stock manifold... he fabricated his own tubular manifold from his extensive knowledge on how the exhaust gases should flow on our car with a stock turbo... he compared dyno results of that tubular manifold vs a ported stock manifold. He lost horsepower and performance from the tubular. My recommendation is to port your stock exhaust manifold... it's cheap and works great. No need for bling-bling pretty tubular manifolds if they don't produce results, and I'm not talking about "feeling" faster from one.

id say get the stock one ported (not like anyone else has told you to do it) and then get it ceramic coated. this way you will get better breathing and help with spool a little!

thanks Chris.

buschur later admitted that his mani design was not the best and he did throw it together in 5-6 hours or something like that. someone in that thread pointed out the flaws in his design. there are gains over the stock manifold and it will not take forever to spool if you get a correctly designed one.

is the meagen racing mani the same as the ssautochrome and are they twin scroll?

the meagen o2 housing... does it make your dp sit lower... all the aftermarket o2 housings i've seen are "longer" than the stock one. can you confirm this?

I have run both and broken both. It is generally acceted that tube headers will crack much more easily than the cast iron manifold and my expereinces have certainly born that out. The cost to port match, polish and insulate the stock manifold is not much of a savings over a tube header unless, like me, you can do most of the work yourself. If you want power go tube (for meaningful gains you must select according to your specific application as these are tunned) if you want durability and some gains stay where you are and have your mani re-worked.

What about Turbo Outlet Pipe(o2 housing), goes between Mani and DP. Helix have some ( http://www.helix-power.com/exh_sus/564-ex006.htm) and they claim up to 10HP increase.

Any Suggestions???????
