Actually the G35 is the Skyline, but the Z is pretty much the same thing.

If you sit and wait for the next best thing, you will never own anything.

There will always be something better faster cooler coming down the pipe.

SC~ whos Evo arrives on 2-25

Good point. I guess maybe i should go easy on mods and them hope resale is high. If the GTR weights >3450 close to 400hp stock with awd it's hard to resist even if it does cost 60 grand. I'd bet they'll be sold out faster than the sti and evo combined.

2003 for me...Blue by you coming in Feb 25th. I am not a Rally Driver nor going to be racing on the track (that much). 30k for a car is QUITE enough for me...

The STi hoopla has worn off on me so I'm ready to take delivery of my EVOLUTION. Still can't believe it.

Hailz!

I went with the 2003 EI conversion of the EVO VIII... I can't wait for the goodies to appear "some day".

I think April is still my due date to actually get it.. but things are quite volatile.

You really think so? I'd love to have a GT-R, and so would a lot of people on these boards. But the truth is that not many of us can afford a car that expensive. When you look at the people in this country that are both willing AND able to buy something like the GT-R, the numbers probably aren't that high. After all it is a 2-door, Japanese sportscar... but it doesn't really have that "exotic" look like the NSX does. 60grand or more is a lot for a Japanese sportscar, or at least that's how most people think. Who knows, I could be wrong...

My reply to the poll was 2003MY Lancer Evo, assuming the dealers still have stock left when I'm ready to buy, which will probably be closer to the end of the year. I could care less about the ACD and AYC, they weren't on Evo1-6 and those cars were still awesome... plus I don't race the car, so I shouldn't miss them.

Brembos: Could care less again. I'm glad they're on the car, but any other high-performance, big-brake package would be good too...

Recaros: Could care less. They're just seats... as long as they're nice and supportive, it doesn't really matter. If you want recaros you can always buy them from the local speed shop or mail order catalog.

If I don't care about all this, then why would I want or need an Evo? Well I don't need it.. but if I was buying what I needed I'd have a Prius or some hybrid that would get me better mileage on my 50 miles daily of commuting. I want the car because it's an Evo... the looks, the heritage, the premise of an AWD turbo super"sedan", and all of this for a great price!

And already having a 2.5RS makes me not want another Subaru in the garage, so that makes my decision a little easier.

Not to change the subject but can you post or find a pic of the internal components of 2.5? In particular the con rods.

AYC was on the 4,5, and 6. But i'm with you, I don't care. The car should be a blast and for $29K it's great.

A lot like buying a computer these days. I will most likely find myself in the Evo because I am tired of waiting. I think that it will be a blast to drive. Plus it is in the upper range of what I feel I should spend on a car at this point in my life. I do like the STi but I don't want to have to spend much more than 30K on a car. Some days I feel I am nuts to spend THAT much. In the end I think it will be worth it and when the all new and improved goodies come out later who knows I may have won the lottery by then and will be able to trade up. One thing I know for sure is this won't be the last car I own so I might as well jump into the pool now.

s4, thanks for the correction... but you obviously got my point. You don't need to have ACD or AYC to have a great handling car.

STi all the way, assuming its weight is under control. Subaru delayed the release of the STi to ensure it could beat the Evo in every meaningful category, this from NASIOC from a "legit" source. Okay maybe it wont end up beating it in every category but the specs on paper and very positive feedback from the new JDM STi make it good enuf to earn my hard earned dollars. Theres speculation too that US STi shares in the Spec Cs suspension geometry, STis track ready version. Yes 30 HP differential can be made up but who likes to be forced to go out and hunt for parts to make you even with a stock competitor. Is it going to be that easy and cheap immediately, for either car? Imported parts? $2k for a 350z japanese exhaust for a questionable 7 horses. Besides I think its a smart thing to wait at least a few months before any mods.

I love the fact that it doesnt come with a radio, and take out the damn AC while ure at it plz. I prefer the Evos exterior, nice advantage but I dont ultimately care about looks on this type of car. Mitsu got greedy in wanting to "Evolve" their Evo in the US market, not a bad business strategy actually but to that I say no thanks. Both great cars but if a few things hold true the STi is a winner. Im sorry but im still p*ssed at Mitsu for not giving us the full blown, yes yes im grateful its here but you folks at HQ arent now a lil p*ssed yourself? Wheres that mothership fellow, defend your company dude.

The Evo for 2003 will hold it's value for longer than most cars..

Buy the EVO, have some fun, then trade it for the STi or 2004 EVO if that one proves to be the ****..
