Who's waiting for the 2004 MY Evo?

Just curious if anyone is holding off on purchasing the 2003 Evo and instead waiting to see what's offered for the 2004 MY? Please vote and let us know your reasons.

Personally, I will be trying to get the 2004 STi. By the time I'm actually able to get one, we may have an idea on what will be offered in the 2004 Evo. I'm hoping ACD, Super AYC, 6 speed and Auto climate control . I wonder how much it will weigh with all of the goodies?

Rax, I'm with you...I think I'm going to end up with the STi. But then I have a feeling that once I've waited for the STi, will announce the MY EVO with all the goodies you said (and maybe a GDI engine?!) in which case I'm gonna want that instead. So, in my case, I think their marketing strategy is backfiring...I keep not buying a car 'cuz they're getting better too quick!

...and what's "super" AYC ?
...that's two things.

MY = Model Year

Regarding the Super AYC, the only things I've heard so far are from marketing materials:

- has a LSD function
- Changes of the internal design of the AYC diff. increases usable torque 1.6 times over the previous model in Gymkhana or Circuit

This is really becoming a tough choice for myself and others Im sure as well as a very valid debate.

In any case from all the research I have done on this issue in the past couple of weeks I beleive Im going with this years US spec Evo 8. compared to all the uncertainty of what the hp would be, if it would have Brembos, if irt would have recaros, what it would look like etc I must say that we should be thrilled at how it turned out. WEe got the brembos, we got the seats, we got a higher than expected hp(remember 250 tops) and we got IMO the best looking evo yet. Dont you guys remember how worried we were about all these issues a couple months ago. Looks mean alot to me so Im content with the product and will go with it. If the sti would have been under 30 k then it would have made my decision a little but not too much tougher.

Ahh, sti mentioned again. These cars are so close and so different. I think i'll just wait for my 05 Skyline GTR. Until then i can't decide if i'm going to go with the sti or evo. But i'm going to drive the Evo till the sti comes out and then decide if it's worth the switch b/c the evo might be better. I think i might put a deposit for a sti for msrp.

I'm buying an Evo when the opportunity presents itself. So if I can't get one at MSRP or close in '03 then I guess it will be '04. As it stands right now '03 is the target.

Word. AYC and ACD wouldn't hurt either.

I'm gettin the 03. If they offered an Evo with ACD/AYC alongside this one, I'd still get the regular one. It just fits my budget. Simple as that. I'm sure many people who are sticking with the evo are in my situation. If I had more money, I'd go with the an imported EVo or the US STi. If i had less, i'd go for the remodeled WRX.

I'm pretty much positive I'll be getting the '03 Evo. I can easily afford the Sti, but I like the Evo's looks better and am confident it'll out-perform the Sti when modded to the same dollar value as the stock Sti. I was very much hoping to get ACD, but I think I'll still be happy without it. Besides, I've been waiting 2+ years for this and don't really feel like waiting any longer .

Well i'm only gonna be able to buy a car once I graduate, come back and get a job. By then, lots more choices, like GTR said, even the skyline will be around

Most likely twice the price of the Evo as well. The GTR that is. Prepare to wave goodbye to your savings account.
