Thumbs up New (used) Evo owner

Hi there. Great forum!
Been doing some searching and reading of the various forums here... glad to see such an enthusiastic crowd that shares the love of this car.

I had a WRX (it's really the wife's car that I'd steal on the weekends to autox). One weekend last January while out getting the subaru washed, I spied a shiny black used '03 Evo in the dealership lot across the street. What the heck... I'd been thinking about getting an STI in the summer, figured I oughtta give the Evo a look. There was, after all, a local Evo autocrosser who shreds the competition in A-stock.
Long-story-short, I traded in my S10 pickup truck for it 2 days later. The Evo came with a set of Yoko winter treads, and the stock summers, 15k miles. It hasn't been perfect, but the local Mitsu dealership has been pretty helpful and even warranted a new transfer case.
Best part about this car....
My wife and I met at a restaurant last night after work (she drove our '04 wrx wagon, I was in the Evo). After leaving, got the chance to merge onto an empty on-ramp at the same time.... I gave her a head start, then we both floored it.
She's cool.

I hope you never have any problems because I would be shocked if the dealer stuck to his word.

lil evo,

Not too worried about it. I'll accept responsibility if I do any damage. I'm comfortable doing a lot of the mechanicals myself. That's one of the reasons I got a used one.... gives' me some extra cash to pay for mods, repairs, tires, etc.

Thanks for the replies folks

Got a little colder around here again. Makes funny noises when the temp is around zero. P/s pump is whining.
One of my friends has an STI, and we swapped cars for a little drive the other day. <biased opinion> Sure am glad I got the Evo... not much difference in power, but my Mitsu just "feels" better. </biased opinion>

Congrats I have total faith in Mitsu. I bought my Evo with almost 50k on it. Since I had it I have been reached 50 and all parts except rotors are the ones that came from the factory. If you take care of the Evo, Evo will take care of you.

onramps are the most fun thing outside of the track... I love giving people a ride in my evo for the first time... I point out the OH **** handles, and then when we get to an onramp, I floor it, even if it's a tight one, and the tires usually don't even squeal. That's the most amazing thing about the Evo, is it's ability to take corners so fast and exit corners going faster than some of the most expensing cars in the world! Welcome to the World of Evo!
