Invoice on an 05 VIII is about 29K. SSL option invoices for about $2800. THe destination is about $600. So the invoice for the red with SSL would be about 32.5K (+tax, registration). So 34K isn't bad at all. Keep in mind that when a dealer sells a car at invoice, they're still going to make money on a "holdback". This is a fixed amount of money that the manufacturer will pay the dealer when they sell the car (kinda like a secret bonus). So if a dealer is REALLY desparate, they'll sell a car for under invoice (I bought my '04 Dodge Caravan for $4500 under invoice because they were so anxious to get rid of it). Anyway, with the desireability of the Evo, $34K is very reasonable. They do have to make a profit, you know. But who knows? If they still have it in 9 months, you could get it for cheaper.

Electric blue will go quick, i love that color. I almost traded my o4 black one for the 05 EB one. I have the SSL and love it though. Tough choice my friend. You should be able to get it cheaper though.

yeah im in the same postion as you im 18 a freshmen in college and i want to get an evo so bad but i want to wait till Evo 9 comes to see what its all about. I also work and have plenty of money saved( been saving since a sophmore in high school) but only enough for half of what the car is worth. Till then I'm just going to wait and just keep saving and investing my money. My goal is to is to put 30k down for an Evo 9 and pay the rest off so i could build credit. If i was you i would wait and shop around to find the best price and hold off on buying the car for a while longer because once the Evo 9 hits the market your going to find plenty of used Evo 8's for a great price. Even the dealers are going to mark down the current 05's to make way for the 9's so wait until the model year ends.

If you are looking to buy in September, wait until September to gauge the market.

34k??? That seems high to me, I got quote a little bit over 31k for an 05 Black Evo 8 w/ no SSL package so I would say 34k for an 05 no SSL is kinda high

riglevo- it was 34,ooo with the ssl. the eb evo without the ssl is only 31,000 some odd bucks. but yea thanks for helping out guys im looking forward to the day. i have to go with the ssl....but even if i cant do that....ill get a aftermarket sunroof. my dad knows this guy that does very well work. but i guess we will just see when the 9 comes out cuz i know the dealers are goin to be bumping the prices down on the 8.

shop around, u cant probably get it cheaper, about 1-2k less if u relly shop for red, as for elc. blue it might be more cuz its still pretty new. But if ur going to wait till sep. then wait for the IX!

I bought my 05 Electric blue for 29,5 (invoice + destination) and got 13k for my trade in (2003 Honda Civic Si with 33k miles).

Keep haggling, you can definitely get it for invoice if you try hard enough.
