no such thing. evos cannot win no matter what.

 

^^....next week i will post a vid of me whooping a heavily modded R34 skyline..
will bring it back for the evo guys!.....and a R34 is much better than a mustang IMO

 

Screw the race with the Cobra. Can't we all just agree that we want more pictures of the chick polishing the chrome? I've got chrome she can polish...

no matter how much you invest, there will always be someone faster, thats a fact, im just happy i can stomp 9/10 cars on the road. agree w/ the others, $7k in actual performace parts would of tore that cobra up!!!!!!!!!

I have less than 5k in my car and I ran a 11.80. I Dont see to many cobras running those times with 1k in mods. and my car hooks up on the street!

Hey that was my EVO and if you want to know the story you can go to the link here. You know the Cobra guys were cool about the whole thing. I can't believe fellow EVO owners would flame me over the race. You don't even know the damn story.

Besides my car is prolly putting out 330-350whp on race fuel. So why is it so hard to believe that a Cobra with 500 or more whp would pull me up top. Sure he weighs more but have you seen the torque curve on a Cobra? You guys need to get your head out of you know where. This guys car is really fast. Cobra's desevere more respect than you give them. All this race was, was good fun. There was no trash talking from me or the owner of the Cobra.

 

Here's my mods that I can remember:

Total is $5840. Now the total for actual go fast parts is $3440.
Could I have done it alot cheaper? Sure could have, but I opted for the nicer stuff such as the EBC and custom tuning. The guy asked me how much I spent on the car and I just estimated $7000. I was thinking total of everything and not just go fast parts.

 

This guy ran 11.62@118mph that day on slicks. So it is possible.

 

Actually that specific cobra in the video ran 11.62 @118 and his car consists of a pulley, predator tune, and a catback exhaust, all of which probably cost him around $1200 or less. They are potent straight line machines. Of course like you said being able to hook up is another issue.

Although as I said, personally I would only quote my "go fast" parts to a guy I was racing, minus the install costs. I think the guy you were racing was expecting a lot when he heard $7k in mods.

 

surprisingly enough, there was no flame or rice comments on that forum. my buddy's best friend has a '98 cobra, and when my friend told him that i got an evo, he actually said "evo is one hell of a car". so it's good to know that there are still car enthusiasts out there and not just driver egos.
