If I didnt have one, Id go for an evo first, but since I already have one, Id like something different as well, maybe an Elise. I couldnt see myself owning 2 of the "same" cars.

I'd have to argue a z06 is more bang for the buck

I didn't mean owning two of the same car (I guess I didn't phrase the question correctly). I meant to ask, "How many current Evo owners, if they had to choose a new car to buy right now, and you didn't own one already, would buy an Evo"? How many would go with something different this time around, knowing what you know now?

That's tough. As much as I love the evo, if I were shopping for a car, I would take a serious look at a Supra or Sti. Although, when it comes down to it, I'd probably buy another evo. I just can't think of any car that has to same stock performance or aftermarket potential as the evo for anywhere around the same price.

As for the z06 being more bang for the buck. I disagree. For 45k more than the evo you only get slightly better performance. For a fraction of that 45k, the evo can run circles around the z06. Maybe not with a warranty, but.......

I would make the same point, except that he might have been talking about the C5 Z06, which ran about $55,000 I think, but I don't know if there are any new ones left. The C6 Z06 comes out later this year, and will be about $70,000 I think.

I paid $26,100 (plus tax & license) for a new '04 EVO RS. That's what I mean by "bang for the buck."

When you are talking about the Z06, you are just talking about BANG.

Having been without my Evo for two months (body work), I miss her more than ever and will not leave her for anything else but another Evo. The beautiful thing about the car is that "Evolves," so I personally see no point in trading my modified VIII for a IX. Besides, how cool is it to see an Evo VI and appreciate it for what it is! There will always be a "better" Evo out there, but there will never be anything better than the Evo.

The Evo is the only car I ever wanted and if I can help it it will be the only car I ever own.
