Im hoping they come out w/ a utec. for the evo.thats such a great mod for the wrx and adds 30 hp no problem .just think wha it could do for the evo...check out the site.theres no evo news.but if u want to get an idea of what could come available in the future for us evo ppl... If the utech is just another computer or chip or burned, you could just buy the FQ computer out of the UK... it may be available sooner than TurboXS can come out with it.

Also, modding the EVO might be a painful decision... I talked to a buddy of mine that used to be a tech at a Mitsu dealership... he said that one of his buddies that went to the EVO training classes said that EVO owners will have to sign some kind of contract agreeing NOT to race the car etc...

What I think is that with this "agreement" if the dealership sees any mods, they will automatically cancel your warrantee!!!

Back in the late 90s, I know alot of people started having trouble getting warantee work done on their DSMs because of mods... what the few do, ruin it for the whole (some people were abusing their cars really bad and then trying to get it waranteed and the dealers got tired of it!).

I almost forgot, if any of you guys want mods before they a readily available, like exhaust or IC piping/bov... you can buy the actual mandrel bends from various sources like www.roadraceengineering.com and have a local shop/weld make you the exhaust or IC and or adapter for BOV... sometimes it can come out much cheaper with quality as good as a brand name.

I can only assume there will be tons of mods coming out in the next year for the EVO VIII. Anytime a new model hits America, an ****-load of new parts get developed. Companies know that we love to dump lots of money on our cars - they can recognize a gold mine when they see it. Plus the 4G63 has been around so long that R&D shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Remember back a few years ago. You were hard-pressed to find anything over here for an Impreza 2.5 RS. As soon as the WRX was introduced we got flooded with parts.

I can't wait to see what people over here (who have money)will do when they get their hands on the 8.

I'll be leaving mine stock for a while 'till I can afford any mods.

Well WE didnt' really get any new parts for some time. Its just that you could use almost all the parts from Japan so everything was already availble.

Buyer beware! Some some of the venders posting on this board are well known to the WRX community and have various levels of quality customer service. You might want to do some quick research before sending them your hard earned money for mods. http://www.nasioc.com/ has some pretty good info on the various venders who are just waiting to collect your money.

The 2 best customer experiences I had with my WRX parts came from Turbo XS and Stoptech (brakes). They both were fantastic to work with.
