News from MMSA!
Email from MMSA in response to one of my emails (I just received this)...
"I have spoken with members of our Corporate Sales Department and one of the reasons that you may be experiencing some confusion at the retailer level is because the decision to bring EVO7 into the U.S. will not be officially made until the announcement at the North American AutoShow in Detroit early in 2002."

Hell Yeah!!!!
I never thought MMSA would say anything like that. I've never seen that from a car company ever! When is the Detroit Auto show again? I'll be in FL when they announce it, but I'll try and check the forums and carpoint to see what specs they announce.

Mitsubishi's press conference is on Monday, January 7. I don't know what time it is since the NAIAS Website is down right now.

Cool!! I'll get to see the North American debut of the Evo7 firsthand. After the press and everything, but still good news to me.
Heres the webpage for the Detroit Auto Show: http://www.naias.com

Yeah, I was pretty surprised, too. It came from the guy I mentioned in another thread who hadn't gotten back to me. After I wrote that post in the previous thread, I decided, what the heck, write him another email, describing how disappointed I was in MMSA and all the dealer BS. See if that gets a response. Sure enough, he wrote back.
Not really anything new, but definitely adds credibility to what everyone was thinking and hoping.
He also asked for my phone number so he could call me and discuss the price issues I raised (i.e. dealer gouging). but before I could respond, cable internet went down. I'm using dialup right now.
I'll let you know if he has anything interesting to say.

That's cool that they responded to you, even though it took a while. The great thing about that is just what you said... adds that extra bit of credibility. Let us know of anything else you find out.

The annoucements are typically in front of the press and include video, music, etc... usually very showy. They will probably have the vehicle there for display as well. It might also be a good idea to check CarPoint.com for streaming video coverage. That's what I plan on doing.
