turbo question for ya....

what in the hell is a "Twin scroll" turbocharger? its just been bugging me what would the difference be between a normal 16g and a "Twin scroll" 16g?

Twin scroll means there's two exhaust inlets to the turbo charger, each corresponding to 2 of the 4 cylinders, as opposed to all 4 cylinders' exhause flow joining before entering the turbo. I believe one of the problems with the single scroll is that small amounts of the exhaust gasses exiting one of the cylinders could inadvertantly enter the other cylinders in a different cycle through their exhaust valve mixing itself witht the air/fuel mixture. I'm not incredibly versed in the details of this though.

This reduces fluxuations in the turbocharger and ultimately allows for a smoother powerband
