You could always look for a used one. There will be those who buy them and then realize they can't afford them. Though with a car like the Evo, it's scary to think what the previous owner did with it.

I'm in the same boat, too. Owe like 7k on the Subie and have no down payment in the bank. A good APR is only part of the equation in buying the car, unfortunately. The dealer might disagree... heh.

"What do I have to do to get you in the car today?"

I could be wrong, but I don't think the Lancer it going to sell like hotcakes. They all will sell, but they're not going to be flying off the showroom floors. Otherwise this whole production run would have already been pre-sold. They haven't even pre-sold the entire initial limited shipment.
Your not getting it. 13 units is the largest allotment I've heard of for a single store but it is still over the course of an entire year. My store is sold out through the summer and again, this is on a car that few have seen and none have driven.

Doesn't change the fact that Mitsu will not be offering incentives on this car. If your waiting for them to do so you had better be REALLY patient.

Well i have a 4.9% with my bank USAA. So basically they told me my payments for a $30,000 loan is 496 for 72 months(6 years) not bad. Now lets find out what insurance is going to be?

Be careful taking longer term loans. You can generally get better rates on shorter term loans. I got .5% lower on my loan by taking a 4 year instead of 5 year loan. Here's some examples (Assuming 6.25% sales tax here in Texas).

6 years, 4.99%, 3000 down = $465 a month, 36,473 total cost
5 years, 4.49%, 3000 down = $538 a month, 35,291 total cost

And being in debt for the same car for 6 years would really suck. Do you think you'll have the car 6 years? If not, your loan to value ratio when you go to sell the car will be worse on a longer loan, too.

I just spoke with the manager of Mitsu dealership and he told
me 0% is a possibility and that No body knows! But I am being
realistic and know all I can hope for is a 4% loan. That's
a tiny bit less than my WRX that I am selling after only 8 months.

Basically nobody knows any ting about this cars besides from the pictures and base numbers. We will all have to wait and see.

They claim to be the #1 volume dealer in the US. It probably doesn't hurt that everyone here in Texas drives trucks and SUVs, too.

I'm not waiting for incentives, I don't know if you were targetting me in particular. I can't afford the car now, maybe not even this MY.

But I'll still stand by my claim that they're not going to be unobtainable cars. They're not going to sit on lots for long amounts of time, but I don't think all of the cars coming over are going to be spoken for before they hit the lots. Call me an optimist or a dreamer, whatever... I'm tired of all the naysaying and pessimism around here (general commentary, not targetting you, Mark).

He can say whatever he wants. Doesn't make it so. We have some historical precedents to go by.

The Eclipse Spyder is in its 4th model year in its current form and is produced in some numbers. It has always had the least aggressive incentives on it compared to other Mitsu models, including being excluded from Mitsubishi's trademark program for much of its existence and being the only model without rebates. The Outlander, another high-volume vehicle, has been out since September and only this month was a stripped-down version of the 0/0/0 program available on all other models applied to the car.

Sure 0% is a possibility. So is winning the Powerball. I wouldn't bank on it though.

Mark F, I do agree with you. That is why I said regardless of what
anybody says, know body knows. I'll just hope for the best % rate.

I don't know about your dealer been the largest volume one in the US but my dealer claim they will have 20 evolutions. Check their site.

http://www.kendallmitsubishi.com//en_US/

They claim to have the largest allocation in the southeast with 20 evolution.

I think one of the Kendall reps was posting on here a while back to try and get all 20 sold... do you know if they still have them available?

My dealership is Barrett Mitsubishi. Their website says their the #1 delear in the U.S. but that can mean a lot of things. Their radio ads claim their the #1 volume dealer in the U.S.

I'm trying to find out if they have any of the original allotment left, my guess is yes, but the Internet Manager isn't very forthcoming with information.

Me: "Are you going to be charging a markup?"
Manager: "What color were you looking for?"

doh!

I tried to inquire with Kendall Mitsubishi, but they don't tell much. Except that you can put a non-refundable $500 deposit to which I told them where they could put it. . Also they don't know jack about the car. Don't bother asking question about it. We all know more than them.
Also I am not too sure about their honnesty. One of the sales guys was telling me he wouldn't be making $100 grand a year if they were not honnest. I told him he was making that money because he was ripping off peoples
I don't think they have sold all the 20 cars yet but when people are going to know about it. It's gonna be real hard to get one. In Miami everyone drives a new car, and whenever there is a limited one you can be sure that you always see one or two out there, the next day it came on the lot. People are quick here.
I don't think they will sell the car for any special interest rate but once again there is competition out there with the other banks and they have to stay with the market. So I don't know.

Their website claims they've sold 7 of their 20.

Barrett was the same way... no comments on pricing, markups, etc. They claim they don't know the pricing structure yet.

Production numbers

I've read that 6500 units are slated for the US, the same as all the other countries COMBINED.

Where did you hear that? I've heard 4500 or 4600 from unveiling and reps at the auto show.
