does anyone else's relays under the hood go crazy. I did a search and was wondering if anybody else gets that werid buzzing noise for a sec or two when they shut the car off? kinda like a "wawawawa" electric noise. I dont have an intake so thats not it, but I was wondering what exactly is going on.

 

I've not heard anything like that and I've turned the car on and off with the hood open many times.

I dont think is THAT big of a deal, because it only happens right when I shut the car off. So no real damage is being done to the motor etc. Other than that noise, the car runs perfect. I may just have a bug in the electric system that I need to work out, but I still want to know if anybody else had experienced it.

 

i have some weird noises sometime i just dont worry about them......

 

mine does that but it only does it for like 1 second.

 

i get a similar noise mine doent buzz though it tics real fast like five times and stops
(tic,tic,tic,tic,tic,) i still dont have a clue what it is someone said it was the fuel pump relay someone else said it was the ABS testing i dont know

 

I think it might be the headlights adjusting or somthing like that, I get those noises all the time. I've had my brother turn off the car while I was under there and it seemed that it was just comming from the headlights. The headlights wern't on either.

yeah, mine only does it for a sec or two. It seems to be coming from a 2 by 2 inch black square sensor that is connected to the intake mainfold. Pretty much where the intake pipe meets the intake manifold. I was out listening I have a turbo timer, but the same noise happened prior to the TT going in. So I dont think thats it. It seems like the electronic bits are just a sec. behind the rest of the car when shutting down.

possibly, mine is a 03. With the hood down you can hardly hear it, but with the hood up, it sounds like one of those bug zapping things you hang on your porch. I guess my evo is just multi tasking. Badass car by day, orkin man by night.

 

I get that sound. Comes from my boost gauge.

 

I have stopped worrying about all the strange little noises after 10k. The car runs great and that's all that matters.

 

Mines an 03 and I only hear the fan powering down......kinda like a zzzeeewwww.......
