The point is that unless you 90 or afraid of leaving your house becuase the monkeys will get you 90 % of people speed, hell my grandma speeds in the probe. Have you ever noticed when you driving next to cop everyone around you is afraid to pass him because they think there gonna get pulled over. Its not worth it to them to pull you over when you only going 5 over most cops wont pull you unless you going at least 11 over and even then most of them will give you a warning. I dont get why people are afraid of cops, no wonder there on power trips everyone treats them like there the freakin pope, at the end of the day no one person is better the you or me, cops go home to the same type of stuff we do, i dont get it why everyones afraid of them!?!

 

I can't really agree here... I raced the road I wrecked my evo on every weekend. I regularly did 110+ down it and beat everyone who stepped up. I totaled my car doing 30mph driving to the store to get a pepsi. on the same road I race no less. Higher speeds certainley do not help you avoid wrecks but you do concentrate harder when you speed and you are more likely to be in an accident when you aren't concentrating on your driving. besides, if he wrecks at 157mph, he'll never know

 

ha! Amen! I would love to have a thread where all we talked about was where we raced, how fast we drive, and where the best places to get in racing time without spending *** loads of cash. To bad this site isn't it. I just have to keep trying to meet people in fast cars in traffic and swapping cell numbers til they make a forum where we can get serious. I race every damn day when I can. I have used the driving skills I have aquired over the years to avoid countless accidents with people who have no idea what they are doing behind the wheel. And to this day, I have never accepted Drag racing as a bonafide sport unless your car runs on top fuel or alcohol. Until they put in tarmac rally courses in America and don't require us to empty our salaries to drive on them, I will race where I feel I can get away with it. This man can control his car at it's fastest. He is certain of it. Who else knows that for sure? I can. anyone else?

True!!!

I've actually avoided more accidents from airhead drivers on city streets. Everyone who owns an evo pushes the limit on public streets, (unfortunately some do it when they shouldn't). Even I catch myself showing determined onlookers in there over hyped cars what the Evo is really capable of. Watching there expressions in my rear view mirror when their incapable vehicle struggles to maneuver the path that has been etched by my Evo. This car is surreal because it's in is own class, in it's own world.

Imagine this??!!!!

What if everyone drove an Evo? Or at lease drove a car just as capable as an Evo. Of course everyone's driving skills would not be equivalent. But imagine the thought of a speed limit being non existent. Like your next trip to Vegas would be on the Vegas/California autobahn. Or? Hopefully they would actually build separate roads for cry baby drivers on this forum and the rest of the people who couldn't drive. Give the Evo drivers who are capable to drive, the ability to go somewhere with out waiting for the F**ked up, slower than the speed limit, people who are slowin' down traffic. Come on most people go 80Mph to work every day. Don't you hate that one F**ked up driver who's going slow in the fast lane. Or even worse, is that one S**t head in the hybrid car going slower than the speed limit in the car pool lane. This one's the kicker!! I can't stand the driver that goes ridiculously slow down one of the twisty canyon roads. The kind of road that your Evo craves to let loose.

haha the 157 thing was alil bit ago thats all done and over with got 3 points and 175 fine...................................im just glad some people can admit that they speed and want to push their cars to the limit..........the hell with driving the speed limit ..if i had a lambo or something even faster i would be goin way faster........if they dont like it they should have a autobahn in the U.S....where everyone who wants to actually test there car out go

i got tagged for going 80 in a 45, 207 bucks, paid it but going to fight it. i was pretty much cruising @ the time. however i have noticed that when i am driving excessively fast, i pay more attention for cops and etc. if you are going to speed, the only thing i have to say is know your limits. and for the record, top speed for mine so far was 150, with lots of room to spare smoking an idiot in an rx-8 who wouldn't let me be.

 

why are people immediately assuming that if you don't go more than 5 over on a public road, you can't drive?? you're telling me that driving fast in a straight line shows how great you are? i thought real drivers actually made right and left turns. haha, i'll bet i could drift corners faster than you could take them... better yet, i'll auto-x against you with a lancer. if you're ever in washington, look me up; i'll show you how to drive your car.

and for gods sake, learn the difference between to, two, and too. too means also and has two "o's" after it. every other post (surprisingly by people who promote speeding... just a coorelation i saw) has people saying things like "omfg you speed to!" it wasn't until the 7th or 8th time that it really started to bug me... i guess it's just my bugaboo.

 

There should be a law against parents buying kids cars.....

"I didnt buy an evo to go slow" Dude, i enjoy blasting my evo up to speed on, on ramps. I enjoy blasting my evo up to the speed limit and 5-10 over. I enjoy going 80-100 and then backing off. I also enjoy going slow to the speed limit. You have a ****-suck mentality of, "i bought this car to go fast" "you cant buy a sports car and not go fast". On the other hand there are forums for these types of speed. Closed track, 1/4 strip, autox, etc.

Atlest pay attention when you speed and dont speed in residential area's, thats things you do in highschool...are you in highschool?

What does driving a slower car have to do with going the speed limit? I am pretty sure almost any car can obain 100mph with some struggle or none at all.

Wisen up. Why the hell were you racing up to 157? Did you want to impress who was in your car with you or make it look like you are really cool that you put 2-xxx car lenghts?

For all of you who can justify going way too fast on any public street, try to justify it to the father, mother, sister or brother of the person you killed because a guy driving a Talon or a honda had more control over you than your own brain. 1st time, you're going to take a writen exam... they knock off 2pts then and there...
2nd time... you go to a "review" board... when they ask, what is a drivers license, say "it's a privlege' you'll be set... haha... but, go over again, you're fuxored... if you have state farm your rates won't go up really, especially if you were there with them for a while and you fought the tickets...

you lose 2 or 3 points per year pending a clear record...

this was as of, 3 years ago when i ran into this problem...

and yes, these asshat cops profile here... i never ever got a speeding ticket... all my points were from "not coming to a complete safe 3-sec stop at a stop sign"... lol... it's something that they can ticket you for, and most likely, get away with... stupid fagorts...

Let those without sin cast the first stone... you drive an Evo, you more than likely don't drive like Christ... you prolly bent the law here and there with speeding/whatever, and prolly talked on your cellphone while driving at least once, or drove on lil/no sleep, drove with maybe one more drink then you should've in that hour, or pissed around with your radio/tv... if you NEVER did any of those, God bless you... more likely though, you prolly DON'T walk on water so keep your comments like that to yourself, no one here is going to think you're their god...

and why don't you do this... go drive down the street yelling at every elderly person or woman driving telling them to go fuxor themselves for raising you insurance... it's the ins co driver base as a whole that raises your rates... and the asshats with other or no insurance co's that get into accidents with you that raise it... not some guy that has an Evo and gets a speeding ticket... better yet... why don't you just stop driving all together if you're worried that much... go buy a bus pass and be happy you don't have to worry about your premiums going up... lmao...
