For how many Evo daily drivers is the price of gas any consideration?
I do a 100 mile daily commute, averaging about 24 mpg. That's about $8.00/day just for gas.
I just did the math -if I had my old car (Civic/35 mpg/87 octane), I would save over $800 per year in gas alone. If you figure the difference in insurance, it'll be well over $1000/year.
Sometimes I wish I had a less expensive hobby.

Ill tell you one thing, if I had to drive 50+ miles to work everyday like some people, id be getting a commuter car also. Theres only so much fun you can have in rush hour traffic.
Honesly, I worry more about putting miles on my car than using gas. IDK if thats odd or not, but thats me. To me, endless highway driving in the evo is like getting a first class airline ticket: yea, its nice...but is it worth it?
FYI, I fill every 10 days or so, so its not too bad for me. Prolly somewhere on the order of 100 bucks a month for gas.

I fill up pretty much every 5 days, so about 6 times per month at $25 comes to $150 a month in gas. If I didn't WOT as much (but what's the point), I could easily save $50 a month. I didn't buy the car to put along down the road. Hey, it could be worse, race gas is $6/gallon at the track.
I suppose if my area hit the $3.00 mark for premium, I'd have second thoughts, but I still don't think that would stop me from keeping the EVO. Just remind yourself that you still get better gas mileage than all these bigass SUVs that America loves.

However, I used to have diesel Skoda, so the difference in mileage is huge. Now I pay twice as much filling up and Drive half the kilometers with each tank than before. On the other hand, Evo is more than 4 times better so that should end me up on the positive side
damn, I thought I was spending a lot! hahah I only spend around 150/month on gas. Shell 93 octane. I run off a strict budget, so rising gas prices will certainly annoy me, but nothing will keep me from my beloved Evo!
I don't know about you guys, but I bought an EVO to drive, everyday. No matter what it takes. And I'm not going to buy a "beater" just to save miles on my daily driver. Its just doesn't make sense, and I would not be saving any money anyway. As for gas, I really don't think about it right now, I fill it when it needs it. If the price gets over $3.00/gallon, I'm asking my boss for a raise and am buying 100 octane for $4.00/gallon (100 octane prices really don't fluctuate- atleast I havn't seen it mobe from $4.00). Happy motoring!
I dunno. I guess I'm one of those lucky ones then. I live about 7 miles from my work. granted I only get 13.50/hr here (currently at work) Its close to home and I'm happy to be here. When I get my MR in June I'll make it my daily driver but I only drive about 14 miles to work and back and then about 4 miles to school and back afterwards. So I shoudn't be totally raped by gas prices.
