Quick Question on Changing pads...

1. do i need some kind of special tool so the brakes dont stay clamped onto the rotor? I plan to not take the caliper off. and im only changing my front pads.

2. i read the how to on the forums and it says to apply grease on the metal plates with the arrow on it (both sides), meaning i dont apply grease to the side of the brake pad where its gonna touch the rotor correct? so i ONLY apply grease to both sides of the metal plates?

you dont have to take off the caliper. just remove the 2 pins that hold the pads in . push back the pistons and slide in the new pads.
