Used Evos are a hot item

I've been keeping track of how many evos in my area are for sale and how much they are selling for. One thing I've noticed is that they don't last very long. Makes sense, these are high demand cars for guys who can't afford to pay 30+ for it brand new. All the owners of the RSX, WRX, tuned Civics, etc want to make the switch. I believe the Forbes report now about the evo having the highest resale value.

There was a blue evo for sale and it was gone in literally three days. It made me sad because I enjoyed looking at it

yea they are going pretty quick. i work at a carmax, they come and go in a week. trade in value are in 21,000 range and usually resell for 24-25k(less then 15k miles).

We have (2) used Evos that have been sitting on the local dealer lot for a couple of months now. Perhaps the fact that the dealer is trying to get more than the sticker price of a new '05 Evo might have something to do with that.

there are 2 03's down here about 10 miles from me at a dealership

they are both at 22.9k and one is at 9k miles and the other is at like 11k i think.

car fax says they are both good thanks to the nice guy with the unlimited car fax reports

if anyone is in houston hit me up and ill point you in the dirrection of them if you'd like

i personal want a new MR but 22k is mighty tempting isn't it

I would like to get a 2003 or 2004 with between 20-30,000 miles on it and spend $23,000 or less. I don't plan on buying until this time next year.

Don't you own a evo? Why would you be sad?

The retail and used price for STi's and EVO's is VERY dependent on the market.
Within the first few months of the initial release of the EVO and STi, west coast and some east coast dealers were doing CRAZY markups. I had heard of insane $10k markups in Cali. In my area (Chicago) the dealer sold his first one to a doctor for $5k over. Within a couple of months Mits dealers were offering EVO's near invoice.

The value of a used car is based on it's market. So, any of you coastal folks with a need for a low price on used EVO's and STi's may wish to look out of state.
It could be worth the effort, but it would be a hassle. Depends on how badly you want a great deal.

here are ALL of the recent wholesale 2003 evo purchases from the manheim auctions arond the country: anyone who trades thier car in for much lower than these is nuts. the dealers pay auction fees, transport, and other charges on top of these prices.

guys less than 30 2003's sold in a month for the country.
