Help with Mods please anyone....

New to the EVO world, I need quick tips!

what vendor can help me the most for:
- strut braces front and rear
- race wheel applications
- race exhaust
- brake pads/brakes

Have no idea what the good brands are? Need any help as I am about to start the modding. Thanks.

Advice: Search. Tons of information available on everything you requested. Here's my own opinion/advice

1. Hotchkis or Perrin
2. SSR would be my choice(But I'm biased)
3. Perrin, Helix, or Buschur. For race I would go with a cat-delete. Buschur offers a very nice SCCA legal setup.
4. Hawk or Ferrodo. Hawk you can find via Neal at the Tire Rack. Search around. He's a vendor.

P0300,

Thanks for help. It's nice to know where to start. I came across Buschur site earlier. Liked it. I agree, SSR's are good. There are so many sites, vendors, and fluff out there for these cars. I would like a proven suspension set up. What strut tower braces they used....carbon fiber....aluminum??????

My engine will stay stock until after 2000 miles. So, I am interested in dialing in the cars handling. Ordered 5pt harnesses, sparco harness bar, CR-1 seats. Will try stock MR suspension and see. What about sway bars? Anyone using them to limit understeer? Thanks.

I agree, check out the vendors on this site.

-I have Hotchkis Rear Swaybar, don't need one for the front. Stress Bar on top of engine came with the car.
-Wheels choose the lightest you can get. I think there was a thread already on the weight of 17 inch wheels.
-Exhaust I have RS-R a bit loud when the silencer is taken out but love it! Another write up on the exhaust on this site too.
-Brake pads are Porterfields (Southern California) AutoX pads. A bit expensive but worth it. There are other brands that are cheaper.
-Harness Bar from Sparco adds stiffness to the chassis and 4 point belts to tie you in for some track work.

Good luck and have fun!

hotchkis bars are hollow and lighter. They are adjustable too for dialing in how much over steer you want. RRE (Road Race Engineering) have some great products too.

If your trying to get the best of the best, cusco makes really nice strut braces. I Like the project mu brake pads alot. And exaust wise, aslong as you stick to name brands ( greddy, perrin, hks, buschur, etc.) you cant really go wrong cause in reality their all a pipe, just make sure to get a cat delete or race cat for the biggest gain. At the top of the screen everytime you refresh you will see a new vendor ad, just click on each one until you find the one you like.
