Question TV overload

Lately it seems that everytime i turn on the TV i get at least 2 Mitsubishi Lancer commercials every hour.
Do you think they are trying to get the name noticed before the Evo comes our way??
All i know is that i'm getting sick of that Bare Naked Ladies song.
is this just something happening on my little part of the California coast or is it hitting you all over the U.S. ?

No, I've noticed that here in Dallas, Texas too. Looks like is trying to build awareness about the Lancer Namplate among others...

Maybe they just need to sell more lancers. I have seen less than 10 since I bought mine in August. And I drive 50 miles every day on congested roads. This is no exageration.

I see a few here and there but the dealers around me need to lower their prices down to MSRP they have 4k mark ups on all of their cars so their 02's are still sitting on the lot.

Oh yeah ocOZkid, I know what you mean. This past summer I went to a dealer here in Seattle, WA and they had them priced at 23K!!

Then when I expressed disappointment at the price the guy is like, "how would 19,000 do to get you excited." I looked at him like he was on crack.

On the otherhand the test drive was a joke too. I'm puting the OZ through its paces (as much as can be done with them) and the dealer riding with me goes, "These babies really go don't they?" It was all I could do not to burst out laughing. I mean, the guy saw me drive up in the Supra. He knew before we got in the car I know what real performance feels like.

I mean, don't get me wrong, the OZ is a fun little subcompact for its class, but it's no sports car. I walked from that dealership but thinking I might get one anyhow, THANK GOD I found out about the EVO coming to the US before I bought one. The EVO was the only I was thinking about a lancer in the first place. Well that and the 0 payments till 04 deal.

OK enough ramblin' time for another or

Word, the dealer I bought from said the same thing about how it was "quick" and my friend and I pulled up in hes blown Trans Am(hahaha) luckily when I bought mine they were selling at MSRP, but now I just see all '02s on the lot?!?! I just hate to see people that actually pay 24 for an OZ when they could get a brand new WRX for the same price.

If you're paying 24 you're getting.. how come there's no emoticon for screwed? I got Gypped and still only paid 18,500 after taxes, a **** poor interest rate (from a bank that I've been with for over a decade) and other new-car-buying ****.

Did anyone else see Chapelle's Show on Comedy Central? He does a spoof on the commercials with that "without you" song and kicks the rave dancer ***** out of the car! Laughed my *** off!

Right there with you, I felt screwed at 16500 out the door, who knew the prices would climb this high

That's funny as sheeit!

Damn man 18.5 is still an a$$ r@pe. Sorry man, that's gotta hurt. That dealer called me back a couple of days later and offered me the same car for 16 flat with aftermarket leather and custom tinted windows. I turned him down tho because I had found out the EVO was coming here.

Now I have a #1 spot at a different dealer for the car I really wanted in the first place.

Thanks

I only got to a place where picking up a Lancer "because I want one" is a possibility by paying my dues for 7 years of college and 4.5 years of making software.

So, um, go to school! Yeah that's the ticket.
