The first time you spoted a evo
I saw the Evo 7 in Sport Compact car almost 3 yrs ago, fell in love, went to the dealership and ordered the 8 when it arrived in the US, first one i saw was owned by one of the dealers...it was an orgasmic moment
I saw my first Evo on the showroom floor of Fresno Mitsubishi in May '03 as I was waiting to finish the deal on my new 03 Eclipse. I had never heard of it before. It was Rally Red, and rather nondescript in its appearance. I looked at the sticker in the window and balked at the MSRP. "33K for this thing? What a flaming rip-off", I thought. Then I looked closely at what was under the hood and the quality of the components and thought "Oh, now I see". I've been in love ever since. If I had known better then, I would have told the salesman to forget the Eclipse. Someday, my friends. Someday soon...

From: Maple Shade NJ - All ur base r belong to us
back when i was in college i used to wanna get the 98+ WS6 trans am cause it's so damn hot. then, my folks got me a used teggy LS as college graduation present(first car - love it to death). then wrx came out in 2002, one of my co-workers had it, i thought it was pretty damn cool and figured i'll get one when i have a better job. soon after in 2003 followed the sti and i thought it was awesome that the car was available in the US and was leaning toward getting it eventually. then i saw comparisons on C&D, i believe, and evo was tiny bit faster! at that point i was split in the middle.
first time i saw a blue evo was while driving on a congested RT1 in NJ. i was like "damn, they just bought the car and already put the damn altezza lights on it?! wtf!!" lol i didn't know that was stock. then in feb of 2004 i was at the car show in Philly and saw it up close. the same year i got a really sweet job, so i read a few reviews and decided that i would love the handling and tight feel of the evo vs sti. so in sept. 2004 i made "7 up, yours"! (well, 8, but yea

I went to Schaumburg
in Illinois the Saturday after they got their first cars. This was February 2003. Their whole showroom was Evos. It was cool and I took a bunch of pictures. Little did I know that they were trying to sell them for $35000
so I took my business elsewhere.

GT3 like a lot of you...
Saw first one in person with a low profile spoiler at a Meijer parking lot (huge grocery store in the Great Lakes area) but only reason I spotted it was cuz I had already decided I wanted one. I never drove one until I bought mine, and I was like, "Whoa, I knew this thing was fast, but WHOA!"

Saw the one in Jackie Chan's movie, loved it after that. Forgot about them untill a little before the 8 came out, simply because they weren't sold in the U.S.
We were walking through the last day of the Columbus Auto Show, and getting ready to leave when we happened to walk up on a yellow 8, all locked and everything with no one there. This was before they came out in the U.S. The place was practically empty. Thought it was awesome and went to the Mitsu dealer when I got home.
Soon enough they hit the U.S., and voila, I had one.

Wow - can't believe this topic is already at 4 pages and growing...!
I saw the first Evo in person within days after I just bought a brand spankin new RSX type S.
It was at the local dealership.
Soon after, I'd catch myself driving past that dealership...at night.....after business hours.....so I could have a closer look at them machines.
I guess right there and then, I was already hooked on it but perhaps did not want to acknowledge it...because after all, I just bought a damn new car!
Then I went online to Mitsu often and started checking prices and options, colours, and what not....now at this point I'm already hopelessly lost.....
Three months and about 4000 miles later, I traded in my still-so-new RSX-S and got meself the Evo.....
