Starting college in the fall, two problems
When I went off to college, my parents wouldn't let me take my jeep cherokee, instead they let my brother drive it. He had his license for a year at the time, good driving record. Guess what? He rolled it about 3 weeks while showing off with friends, totalled!
Going to college and driving a $30,000 car. My father was a top lawyer with GE so even though he could afford to buy me a car, he would never have agreed to an arrangement like that! Frankly, even if he did I wouldn't have accepted it because of the attention it would have caused.

You are concerned with your dad putting mileage on it? What about the concern of a testosterone filled 16 year old behind the wheel?
I'm sure he will put just as many if not more miles on it. Don't let him drive it....pull the ecu and take it with you

100% chance that your brother will be trying to show it off all the time... Something bad will happen... Hell, my first car was a Cutlass Cruiser and I was trying to show that POS off
Hey man, it's cool and all to teach your little bro the way of the EVO, but I wouldn't let him use it as his daily driver. I have a younger bro as well with his license, and I've taught hom how to drive stick on my car, but i don't ever let him take it out. It's too much for a newbie driver. And I'm sure his friends will want him to street race it and that'll get him into a lot of trouble. I'm not trying to say your bro is a bad kid, but all that power will go to his head.
Who bought the car? If you bought it then you should be able to say who drives it. If dad bought the Evo then you need to point him to the 10 threads on Evom where people discuss how kids shouldn't be driving Evos.
I just saw a news report that listed the Trans Am as one of the top five vehicles involved in fatalities. The others were SUV's. It's not that the TA can't handle a crash; it's that NOTHING handles a crash when it leaves the road at 80+ driven by a jackass.
You will be starting a R.I.P thread if your 16 year-old brother drives an Evo regularly.

^ agree, do the good big brother thing and take him out with you to some tracks and different events but don't let this be his first car. At that age, it doesn't mater if he is a good driver or not, he will show off the power to his friends and that will get him in trouble, one way or another. Help him find a mid to early 90's manual and use that as a daily driver. good luck with you choice.
In high school, I saw what people did when they brought their big bro's car to school. SHOW OFF!!! Back when I was in high school, the FDs were new. Everyone sure drooled when that guy was going WOT around the school.

I think your heart is in the right place, but his may not be read for it yet. You know your brother and I imagine you already know the right answer to your question.

). I guess you could call it a daily driver but it's really just back and forth between school which is a very small amount of miles. And you are right about the attention, extremely annoying. I always get people that want to race or something stupid along those lines, I usually just say "Allright, let's go to the track" but they never do.

. I hear the engineering is gonna be quite hard but I think I'm up to it. How are the job prospects once you graduate? I hope I go into Harrison or Earhart (spelling error probably) dorm, I don't like the all guy dorms or the two that are really far away.
