Riiiight.. IMO, loud BOVs are all show and no go. It does not increase performance whatsoever, in fact it can actually hurt it. But like you said, whatever floats your boat.

the hell with HKS SSQ BOV and GReddy.
There's a kit with a switch so you can trigger the sound whenever you want.
It also comes with a speaker and funnel to increase the blow off sound.

I got the Forge BOV off a friend and it works perfect. The only way you can have an increase in power from a BOV is if it holds boost better than the stocker like me

I've got the Greddy Type-S ... run it with a single spring (comes with two) and it has been flawless.

Yea, I like the aftermarket blow off valves better. So far, by two choices for when I get an Evo are the HKS SSQV, and the GReddy TypeS.

so you are saying the greddy type s is rice b/c its loud?? even though its been proven to be one of the best valves on the market time and time again?? in my experiences, diaphram > piston no matter what the sound....IMO who cares what the valve sounds like if it holds boost well and is easily adjustable to match a cars performance

How does the GReddy TypeS sound? Any sound clips/videos out there that have that valve?

I second that. I just put one on Monday and it sounds good and the drivablity is awsome. I went from a greddy type s (w/spring mod) and my boost went up 1.5 psi just from switching to the APS. I guess the greddy was leaking.
