EVO RS numbering???
EVO RS numbering???
Did a search and didnt see a post similar to this.
I was wondering if there was some way of finding out a numbering system for the RS EVO's in the US. As there were only 700 sent here I think it can be classified as a "Limited Edition" model.
I know that VW numbered their 20th anniversary GTI's and they made about 5000 of those.
If anyone knows of a way, I would be interested in knowing what number my car was off the assembly line.

EDIT: oops, i misread your question. No, I don't think there's anyway to know _that_. The plant sequence number is unique, but not exactly what you're looking for. I suppose we could try to recreate it (the sequence number) here using manufacture dates.
Yes you can tell from the VIN.

That won't work unless they built all the USDM RS's in a row. And they didn't. That same plant pumps out regular Lancers, Outlanders, and the rest of the Evolution lineup including their JDM counterparts.

This site breaks it down to show the last 6 are for all Mitsu's at that plant. Thanks, donour.

As for collecting...Probably not, there's a lot of evo's around. Personally, I think it's pretty cool owning the the only US evo model with a front LSD and no ACD. It's light, flingable, and very fast.
