first evo sitting

yesterday i stopped by a dealership and talked to a salesman about an evo, blah blah. looked it over sat in it and i loved the colors, two silver and a blue. blue really looked good. salesman was a cool guy but wasnt the most informed . but anyways, so it was my first time sitting inside of an evo and there were actually two, yeah two, things that i didnt like right off the bat. firstly the seat im tall and big, lil bigger than id like but not straight fat, and i felt like the seats were too small at the top where the seat comes and wraps around a bit. im losin weight and lifting more but i hope that wont b a bad problem since i plan on havin some muscle mass to me... but then again maybe im just not used to it. secondly the gauges. i know its a compact and ive been in compacts before, but the gauges the speedo tach and what not, just seemed too small. i dunno i just thought theyd b bigger from what ive seen online but this too may just take some gettin used to.... still a car i love though

I thought the gauges might be a problem for me as well, but I think you'll get used to them. The tach is great, but the speedo is a little iffy. As far as the seats go, I'm only 5'8" or so and 150 lbs; don't get me wrong, I love the seats, but I think someone like me would be more suited to the JDM's smaller seats. Having said that I don't really see the seats being a problem for you.

I'm not fat but bigger than I need to be, within reason. I find the seats to be very comfortable, compairing this to a very small comapct car such as a Honda Si or an Elclipse.
Trust me, once you drive an Evo you'll get to like the seats more and more. Good luck with your choice, I'd go with the blue over the silver.

W3rd!!!!

The Tommi Makinenen seats are perfect. Snug and supportive. If the standard Recaros get any bigger they would cease being worth buying.

yeah, you'll definitly start to love these seats when you see how well they hold you in corners. There is no sliding what so ever.

the USDM recaro seats in the Evo are slightly wider for our big american butts. the JDM would probably fit me nicer, but all is good.

I think both the seats and gauges are something you'll need to get use to. I think the seats will reward you when you take some tight turns. The gauges seem small, but they need to be to fit a 160MPH speedo and 9K tach.
