The "I sold My Evo" Thread

I was thinking of selling My 03' Evolution and with only 20,000 miles on it KBB says its worth $26,500. I was wondering what any of you guys have managed to sell your cars for so if you could give me:

Year
Color
Miles
Price

That would be great! Thanks for the info Fellas

I Live in Colorado and recently bought a house in Utah and am going to be driving 600 miles back and forth about every 2 weeks. The evo is not the car for that kind of driving, I am looking into an X5, I have a lot of stuff to haul back and forth.

Dont get me wrong, I love my car and I will be sad to see her go but I like new things

way overpriced...the best place to check for market prices is in EBAY.

Here's the stats of my EVO i purchased used 6 months ago.

2003 Silver
12,000 miles
unmoded, perfect clutch
$23,000

Ebay really heavily favors buyers, if you look at any other car online car market place the asking prices are much higher. Also a lot of the ebay actions that the reserve never get met, I have been watching ebay semi-religiously but because the reserves never get met I dont know if the seller actually took those bids.

Thanks for the response,

Dan

Ahh, I see. Yeah, those are the kind of situations when there isn't much that can be done. Good luck with your driving, and hauling none the less!

Today, you can buy a brand new Evo VIII for close to invoice.....why would anyone pay 26.5k for a "2 year old" car with 20k miles......the KBB price seems way off-the-mark ?

If you've made up your mind to sell, I'd do it sooner rather than later; once the IX is released later this year I would expect the VIII resale price to take a hit.....watch those KBB prices plummet.

I know that the KBB price is high thats why I am asking people what they have sold their EVOs for. I am not here to argue about something completely out of my control (ie. KBB Prices). I am not a new person to the EVO, look at my join date. Just doing a little reserch.

Any numbers you guys post would be very useful.

Yep, I can't wait for the IX to come out, that way I'll have to shell out less $ for my VIII

I'd have to guess somewhere around 23-24K if it's in good shape. I've wondered a bit too, as I've thought of trading for a IX when they hit the streets, but have pretty much decided against it...never know.

kbb is trash, use galves. It is what the car stealerships use anyway. However if you insist on using kbb, give your a car a poor condition rating and that will be pretty close to real world numbers.
