You guys need to realize that it doesn't matter if your speeding in a group of 20 cars or 5 cars, the officer can pull over which ever car he wants. Take into account that the EVO sticks out in a crowd too, so of course their going to pull you over.

Lesson: Just because someone else is speeding doesn't mean you can too. Pimp yo shyt doing the speed limit. Is it really worth doing 10-20mph($200 ticket) over the limit to get to where your going 5-10 minutes faster?

wow, I've read some ignorant things on this board before, but this statement really takes the cake. Almost makes me embarrassed to be associated with a fellow evo owner. Remember what you said the next time someone breaks into your car/house, hits you in a car accident and you need a police officer.

Personally, I have no problem driving the speed limit anywhere. But with a car like the EVO, and no cruise control sometimes you dip a little over on the downhill on a long drive.

My 10mph over ticket was only $65.

 

We're not trying to bash anyone.

Get one without the wing and switch out the Altezza lights and not only will the car be faster but it won't stick out so much. Chances are that if you go to court and the judge sees what you're driving he won't have much sympathy. I really don't understand why anyone would buy one of these with that boy racer wing. Like having a sign on your car saying "ticket me" or "key me".

I took the time to read your post and my comments were not directed towards anybody in particular except the dipsh@t calling cops terrorists.

If you look closely at your ticket though it looks like he lowered it from 88mph to 85 in a 75mph zone. Thats what I like about cops is even though they catch you breaking the law, if your polite and don't be a d@ck most of them lower the number to save you a little $$$$. When I was younger I was pulled over for 98mph in a 65 zone following 4 other car's(12 hour drive) and the officer lowered it to 80 in a 65. This was *eh em* years ago and I thanked him for lowering it as much as he did. He could have been very strict on me and taken me to jail, but was very cool about it. He even told me how nice my car was and checked out all the goodies under the hood. He said you have alot of money in this car and I would hate to see you wreck it with all this work done.

 

I agree that it is not fair that you were the only one that got the ticket when everyone else around you were doing the same thing or even faster. However, the main point is that you were speeding and it is not ok with with the cop/judge to say you were just following traffic.

For exmaple, if 5 kids went into a store and were stealing and a cop started chasing after them, but can only run after one and decided one in particular because he had more of a gangster look, would the one that got caught be unfair?

Anyhow, most cops don't suck. In everything, there will be some bad apples. But whoever that made the cops comment, the next time you needed a cop, I hope you will understand. And yes, I do work for a PD.

The officer who pulled me over was going to write me up for 87, which is what he said he clocked me at. (Who knows whether it was really me or the Durango that he clocked.) As mad as I was, I was very polite to the officer. He lowered it to 85 which he said cut the fee from $95 to $65. I thanked him, signed the ticket and went on my way - watching my speed until I left the state. With as many times as I've been pulled over, I know enough to not be a d!ck to the cops. Some might even let you go with a verbal warning if you show them the respect they deserve.

 

I had a similar situation last month, only mine is an even bigger crock of **** believe it or not. I was driving my 2002 S2000, intake, invidia exhaust, 1" drop, testpipe. *all legal in michigan* (keep in mind im 19y/o) So driving out of my subdivision, from the mods you can imagine its a little louder than stock, no mustang w/ flows loud or anything but a bit louder. I get followed from a block over out of the sub ( i see him pacing me as I go past intersections. He stops at the intersection as I get onto the main road, As I dont speed, he shoots out and pulls me over for of all things, A LOUD EXHAUST! what the ****?!?

 

i know what you mean i got cut off by some damn soccer mom and i had to swerve onto shoulder right in front of a cop. when i pulled over make sure nothing happened to my volks that i literally had on the car for less than a mile i see a cop park behind me with his lights on i'm thinking he is going to check to make sure that my car is alright or something but no he tells me he stopped because my exhaust is too loud! I told him wtf that lady damn near runs me off the ******* road an your complaining about my loud exhaust! then he has the nerve to tell me that he didnt see that even though it happened right if front of him. He still had the nerve to give a warning about my exhaust. Damn i hate cops.

You were speeding, pay the fine. Whether he caught you or the guy next to you, it's just a matter of who got the lucky break that day.

To the cop comment. Be sure you tell the one that pulls you over what you just said here, or when he is helping you with an accident when the guy behind you hit your car.

 

wow the ticket is only $65 that is the cheapest ticket I have ever seen and trust me I have had a few tickets in a few different areas.
