Evo or 240sx w/ rb25dett? which one should i choose?????????????
ok i have a evo w/ tb exhaust, intake, ecu flash, clucth, flywheel, bc, bov, and cb hood. i aslo have a 89 240sx in by backyard gutted out, engine out, and ready for a swap. now my mom hates my car cause she thinks its to loud and she hates it when i let my bov off so she wants to trade it in for a SLK 430 for herself. So i say well what im i goin to drive, and she suggested that she gets a 10 G loan for me to fix up the 240, and i my plans are to drop a rb25 in it. so what should i do keep the evo ro fix up the 240 and get as much goodies as i can with the 10 g's. what would u do???????????????????????????
I don't understand... is it your car or hers? If it's her car, I'd assume she can do whatever she'd like... if it's yours... I'd assume you can do whatever you'd like. You said she thinks it's too loud and doesn't like the BOV noise... does she drive it and you mod it? If she doesn't drive it, I don't understand how this can be the basis of selling the car. If you need to, you can always make your exhaust more quiet with resonators, more quiet muffler, or using the stock exhaust... and you can always make a BOV more quite by recirculating it or getting a more quiet one that's not aimed to be loud.
Swapped 240's are nice... my group of friends and I had 7 or 8 of 'em... including a JDM Silvia s13, ca18 s13's, sr20 s13's, and rb20 s13's... they're nice... they can be hella fast... but you're comparing apples to oranges when you talk about an Evo and them. Evo's a jack of all trades... it can do everything pretty damned well... including holding 4 cups. 240's are in a whole different catagorey... it's not upto us to decide what you want more out of a car, it's upto you.

I'd keep the evo.
The 240 is almost 20 years old so expect a 20 year old interrior. Plus you're gonna need to find a good tuner around there to help tune the 240.
Sell the 240 one ebay there always someone looking for one because they heard of the swap somewhere and think they can do it themselfs.

It's going to take a LOT of work to get the 240sx up, running, AND be reliable. It sounds like a RB25DET motor swap is going to take a lot of troubleshooting and parts hunting/fabricating to get running right. A crazy project car like this should not be daily driven until ALL the bugs are worked out.
