Pretty decent article, pictures of the yellow Evo VIII. No real new information that I remember.
There was some statement to the effect that the car would blow away the stock WRX, and compete nicely with the new STi.

There's the complete quote on page two:
"Revised bumpers and other safety gear have added an estimated 180-190 pounds, negatively affecting the car's power-to-weight ratio. We're told the new 271-horsepower rating is accurate, while the Evo VII's 276-horse number was conservative by about 25. Still, we expect 0-60 times at or just below 4.9 seconds and Corvette-beating slalom runs - more than enought to show its optional carbon-fiber wing to a standard Subaru Impreza WRX and a worth heads-up match for the upcoming STi version of same".
Very encouraging...

Not bad, the front seems to have regained some of the aggresivness lost in the last model.
As we in the UK are to loose the ACD and AYC that current models have, do people think its a great loss.
I recently put a new AYC rear diff from a VI in my V (it squeaked because the last owner did not change the oil every 6000 miles), got it cheap from a team who rally VI's but junk the AYC for a mech LSD. Apparently the road AYC is no advantage and the factory AYC is un-obtainable.
Also, is it an evolution, i.e. has it improved over the last model. Apart from looks (subjective) each one has at least something upgraded or tweaked (bit of a bugger for us older model owners, never mind, we will get over it
). With the VIII it looks as if nothing has been technically improved, even the power seems to be actually down on previous models.

You haven't seen the car, driven it, or obviously paid attention to the few hands on reviews that are out there right now.
