Buying new vs Buying used

I just talked to a dealer and he said that new Evo 9s will be released sometime earlier next year, thats too long for me to wait for what seems like not much difference between current MR and the 9, (Please let me know if you disagree and why if you do)

So, If I were to get a new Evo, it would be between the MR and GSR 8, but the other option is used, from the dealer.. can someone give me some feedback about this? used vs new and also the GSR 8 vs MR 8.. thanks!

If you find a car take it to a mechanic that you trust and have it completely looked over. You might have to pay some money but it's worth it in the end.

I like the assurance that the car is most likely in perfect condition. With all these threads about dealership joy rides, defective parts, and cars being sold without fluids, however,I'm becoming scared about buying a new or used car.

how about the dealers that sell used cars that are 'certified' with XXX point inspections and come with warranty?

another issue is mods.. whats typically allowed so you don't void warranty?

When it comes to a car like an Evo I would go with buying new. The reason for this is because it is a car that a younger group of people buy. This usually means that the car will be driven hard and might not have been broken in properly so you will have less problems if you get one new and you know what kind of driving the car has been through.

Well i would just stick with the Evo 8 GSR. Pretty much the only difference between it and the 9 is that the 9 has MIVEC, 286hp and 289tq. As for buying, go for new. This causes no problems and U KNO THAT NO ONE ABUSED THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF THE CAR!!!!

Buying a car used is like getting hand me down underwear, even if it looks clean, you dont know if the last person pee'd in them. or thats how my brain percieves it at 812 in the am

well i got my 03 wwevo with 5000 miles for 23750. he was an older guy who kept the car in his hanger, which included a plane, rv, boat, benz, and atv. btw, do a carfax and go for a long test drive. whatever floats your boat, I know i saved a couple thousand dollars from buying used vs. new.

The 05s with ACD is kinda a gimick without AYC that the rest of the world got. Not a real difference between the years. The selling point of the 03s for me would be the factory HID lighting, I love the lights!! On the O5s its an option.
