If this rumor is true, needs to find a new supplier or additional suppliers. 2-3 per day is a joke. What is that, 1000 wings per year? Add some more production people and shifts! The supplier should have a contract with specified production numbers they are required to meet.

By the way, I work for a Tier 1 and 2 automotive supplier.

Two comments:

1) even if the spoilers require 200 minutes to build, that doesn't extrapolate to 2-3 spoilers per day. Think assembly line - each spoiler might take 200 minutes from start to finish, but they could be working on any given number of spoilers at one time.

2) I'd be happy to get the car sooner rather than later, with a rain check for the spoiler once available. I'll just be breaking the car in for the first few weeks anyways...

I'd rather wait and have everything done right, at once. The last thing we need is the dealer installing the wing later free of charge and scratching your car. Then you get pissed because the technician says "that was already there"...

I mean, we've waited a long time already.....what's a few more weeks? I'm working hard to save as much money as I can for the down anyways. I think it would look really bad if Mitsu released the car and added the wing later...they would look too sloppy as a company. Especially since the wing is such a trademark feature of the EVO...

Just my opinion...

Rob

I do not want a wing on mine. I am old enough to use a park bench and I prefer it at the park, not on my trunk.

I ordered one with a small spoiler (oz rally) and no sunroof. All that stuff just adds weight. This can be the best DSM sleeper sense the 91,92 VR4 Gallants.

How much more weight though? It's a carbon-fiber wing....surely no more weight than the small non carbon-fiber wing. Plus, it's a perforance option, not just looks. You think 5-10lbs is going to make a difference to an engine pushing 271HP and a car that weighs 3000lbs?

As far as the wing, not very much. I saw the weight somewhere and it was very light. My preference is not to have it. I really want a sleeper.

My hunch is that all the kids that want sunroofs have never had one. The folks that have had them don't want them All it takes is the "mother of all" thunderstorms coming your way and the damn thing stops closing or after the 7th trip to the dealer to stop it from leaking.

And after having said all this, I will probably get to my dealer and buy the first one I am in line for.

Interesting hunch but not 100% accurate. I've had sunroofs before and I still wan't one. I personally don't want the big wing. I like the idea of being under the radar with the small wing, besides along with the guys in the other performance cars seeing you the cops will notice you too. But that's just my opinion.

No Finance Program sheets for the Evo for February. That pretty much tells us we won't be seeing cars on showfloors until March.

Haa! The Evo with no wing is about as much a sleeper as a corvette. What would possibly give it away. Hmmm...The bright RED calipers. Ummm....Oh yeah! That huge thing out front called an intercooler and let's not forget the hood vent. No....The Evo is far from a sleeper. Now if this package was available in say the plain Lancer ES. Yes that is a sleeper. Which by definition is something that is disguised like something but his actually something else much better. Kinda like when I was young having an LS-6 Chevelle engine in a plain Chevelle with hub caps and plain paint, no strips, bench seat and an auto on the column. That is a sleeper.

So break down and get the goodies...

They came through this morning - a bit unusual as isn't in the habit of releasing these things early. Interestingly, for today and tomorrow we can use either the January OR February programs as we see fit.

Now that's unusual.

Give me a break. That cute little four door sedan with the big "radiator" will be a great sleeper. Our Talons are sleepers to the majority of idiots with Stangs, Hundooos, Tegs, Camaros, and such.

You just want ME to get the park bench so YOU can ask me to bring it by your house so YOU can see it just the way you like it. Then you will want to take a ride and drive the darn thing. Well buy your OWN!!
