GEICO Dropped My Evo
i pay 80 a month. I am in the process of getting a wreckless driving violation reduced or remvoed. I just paid a lot of money for a lawyer to argue it over and over. Usually works. i had a 35 mph over the limit changed to 5 over the limit with a good lawyer. HHEHE. This second one is my 2nd in 12 years. Geico has no reason to drop you if you have a good record....there profiling your car...

Their reason:
"To help keep our rates as low as possible, we occasionally have to tell a policyholder that we cannot continue insuring a particular vehicle because we feel it is necessary to protect the interests of our customers as a group. Certain vehicles, either because of their performance characteristics or type of construction, or excessive customizations do not fit into our pricing structure. Your 2003 Mitsubishi LANCREVAWD is such a vehicle."
I don't understand the idiots in underwriting. Clearly they are willing to **** away ALL of the business I send to GIECO. At one point I had 4 vehicles insured with them and an umbrella policy. No longer. GEICO can go **** in a hat!

Agreed,
The only reason geico or any company for that matter would ever drop a vehicle, would be due to high risk. Seems like every day I log on here, someone somewhere is crashing/totalling thier evo.

I am with State Farm and my evo rate has gone up every 6 months sincfe tha car came out while my other vehciles have remained steady - this despite my having no accidents or tickets since I had the evo.
Interestingly enough State Farm seems to be the most reasonable, at least so far. I might end up coming out ahead with them if I bundle all of my insurance (home, auto & umbrella) with them. I want to jump on it as soon as possible. I want to make a point of forcing GEICO to cut me a check for a refund of the balance of my policy period.
strange i also own one, just bought my evo 3 weeks ago, i didnt hear anything about them not covering me. possibly because i have the insurance under my father's name might play a factor. but i never heard that.
Now Im scared. I have Geico and I have an Evo. I even have a 100mph ticket. I havent had any problems though. Im 32 and my insurance is ~$100/month. I hope they don't drop me or Im screwed!
they wouldt cover me caause i added a turbo to my car...they were like "we dont cover cars that have perfomace like that." i was like its just a sedan....whats the deal...i added to tow stuff. =)
It is well known that Geico has a policy to donate funds to police departments for the exclusive purpose of purchasing radar and laser speed guns.
For this reason as well as others I consider it a matter of principle to never use their service.
Perhaps we could, as a community, boycott Geico?
What a bunch of scumbags!!

The bottom line is there have been a whole bunch of totaled evos working their hands in to the parts sales arena and also getting into the hands of the old dsm racers. These cars are comming from somewhere and somebody is paying for all of these wrecked cars. I have two customers - no names - who are on their 3rd evo (other two being wrecked). And I have a whole list who are on the 2nd evo.
Its a great testamnet to evos that it seems most people have just walked away from all these wrecks. I guess that is the most important thing.
No doubt when they add it all up at years end if they see they are loosing a lot of loot on a particular car they make make certain adjustments. The people crashing then on test drives or the first few days they get them just don't help the situation.
