i pay 80 a month. I am in the process of getting a wreckless driving violation reduced or remvoed. I just paid a lot of money for a lawyer to argue it over and over. Usually works. i had a 35 mph over the limit changed to 5 over the limit with a good lawyer. HHEHE. This second one is my 2nd in 12 years. Geico has no reason to drop you if you have a good record....there profiling your car...

"To help keep our rates as low as possible, we occasionally have to tell a policyholder that we cannot continue insuring a particular vehicle because we feel it is necessary to protect the interests of our customers as a group. Your 2003 Mitsubishi LANCREVAWD is such a vehicle."

I don't understand the idiots in underwriting. Clearly they are willing to **** away ALL of the business I send to GIECO. At one point I had 4 vehicles insured with them and an umbrella policy. No longer. GEICO can go **** in a hat!
geico has been known to do this. Anyone who wants ot go with geico in the future, be weary they tend to drop people for no reason. Especially in NJ.

I think it may have to do with all the accidents that are hapening with evos all over the usa. Sadly, it seems that some owners are not as cautious as they might be in driving and there are a lot of one car wrecks. It is a sad development with GEICO, but I can rationalize where they are comming from in avoiding a particular vehicle which has a high incidence rate. I am with State Farm and my evo rate has gone up every 6 months sincfe tha car came out while my other vehciles have remained steady - this despite my having no accidents or tickets since I had the evo.

Agreed,

The only reason geico or any company for that matter would ever drop a vehicle, would be due to high risk. Seems like every day I log on here, someone somewhere is crashing/totalling thier evo.

I'm sure you're right. It doesn't help that the majority of Evo owners are probably part of the highest risk group (<25yo and unmarried). They probably don't breakdown a vehicle's risk profile down to who actually drives the vehicle.

Interestingly enough State Farm seems to be the most reasonable, at least so far. I might end up coming out ahead with them if I bundle all of my insurance (home, auto & umbrella) with them. I want to jump on it as soon as possible. I want to make a point of forcing GEICO to cut me a check for a refund of the balance of my policy period.

same here, I'm also scared. Got into a fender bender and it was my fault. So now I'm waiting and see what Geico will do. Raise my premium where I can't afford it anymore, or drop me.

It is well known that Geico has a policy to donate funds to police departments for the exclusive purpose of purchasing radar and laser speed guns.

For this reason as well as others I consider it a matter of principle to never use their service.
Perhaps we could, as a community, boycott Geico?

What a bunch of scumbags!!

I like State Farm - they are decent. I list my evo as a pleasure driver and they charge me $800 per year for full coverage - which I think is favorable for a car like this. I have been with them for over 20 years and never had a problem with price issues or bad service. When I was younger I could never afford a Corvette which is what I really wanted at the time and had to settle for a BMW 535is instead. I think it was like $6500 per year at that time for a '87 vette.

The bottom line is there have been a whole bunch of totaled evos working their hands in to the parts sales arena and also getting into the hands of the old dsm racers. These cars are comming from somewhere and somebody is paying for all of these wrecked cars. I have two customers - no names - who are on their 3rd evo (other two being wrecked). And I have a whole list who are on the 2nd evo.

Its a great testamnet to evos that it seems most people have just walked away from all these wrecks. I guess that is the most important thing.

No doubt when they add it all up at years end if they see they are loosing a lot of loot on a particular car they make make certain adjustments. The people crashing then on test drives or the first few days they get them just don't help the situation.
