I was driving to work this morning and saw a trailer with what looked like the latest shipment.....on top of the trailer was Blue By You Evo 8 with the big wing! The hood and rear were masked but I saw the big logo on the front and the wing. The last car on the trailer was a yellow Lancer...or was it an Evo with the small wing option? I couldn't really tell because I was going in the opposite direction and didn't see the front end. But the first car was definitely an Evo. I don't know if it's a showroom model or the first allotment but I almost crapped myself since I hadn't expected delivery for another 2 weeks or so.

 

Sweeet, I wonder why we have't seen any in Kali. Well except for at the MMSA corporate building I saw a yellow one

 

I passed a trailer yesterday with all Mitsu's and slowed way down hoping for a view of some evo VIII's, but it was just 2 lancers and a bunch of Galants.

Well what road were you on and where? Who knows if it dropped the car off here or not, though.

 

I was on I-35 heading North and the trailer was heading south on 35...heading to Gillman perhaps? Might stop by after work to see if I can find it!

 

Do you know what kind of allocations the dealers are getting here? Randy Cash at Barrett told me they have 13 allocated. I don't know if that's initial shipment or total. He told me they'd get each color with and without moonroof. Also no word about pricing there.

I didn't try to contact Maxwell or Gillman to see what they're getting/charging.

I could try to swing by Maxwell on my way home from work. Maybe the truck peeled off onto 183 north. And maybe it already stopped and dropped off a car at Barrett. Or maybe not.

 

I met a guy that said he had his deposit down for an Evo in San Antonio..? But who knows

 

Don't make me call them. Why hasn't anyone called Barret, Gillman or Maxwell yet? Sheesh! I will do it.

Just called all three dealer ships. Don't know nothing. What's new?

Anyway, Maxwell said no.

Barrett said it might be in ther holding area, but he wouldn't say for sure. Said call back Friday and he might know more. Also said I should drive up to talk about it. Told him I didn't want to, unless he had something to show me. He also said we would be surprised if they did have one already. Feb 10th he was expecting.

Gillman said 7 on their first shippment on Feb 10th. But none yet.

Oh well.

sheesh....i feel bad now, i hope i didn't get everyone's hopes up...sounds like barrett might have something up their sleeve but we won't know till we check it out...

 

yay, I'm coming home to austin this weekend, so someone PLEASE find out if its at one of the austin mitsus! i wanna sit in one... the evo at the houston auto show was up on a platform. It was the same red one that was at the LA show that everyone got to touch/drool on/sit in. I was like, WTF!?

 

I know how you feel, they wouldn't let me sit in the detroit one either! I even asked one of their reps just in case, but no go, though we did have a nice chat about how sweet it was. Then, while I was drooling all over the carbon fiber wing I heard some riceboys talking about how it was the lancer with a body kit and had to give them a lecture on the wonders of the Evo.

 

Sat is Feb 1st. Make some sense to have one on the show room floor for the weekend.
