Actually, you're right, it isn't fair to the dealers taking care of their customers. Problem is, it's not about what's fair to a conscientious dealer but about Mitsubishi's image among the car buying public.
Mitsubishi's challenge is to make sure that their customer receives a consistent response from the Mitsubishi dealer network. Kudos to those dealers that hold up their end of the bargain, but an underperforming dealer just underlines why it is so important to Mitsubishi to ensure customer satisfaction across the board. The customer is going to base their opinion on the service THEY receive, not on what some dealer is doling out to the good folks of Utah. Most of us are not going to move to get good service for a Mitsubishi product.
