Haha dohcvtec, how many times do you have to say the same thing. It seems the others in here need to "pay attention".
Anyhow, I went in to take my car for service today, I stopped by the financing dept. and told them of my intentions to cancel the warranty. I will receive a prorated refund that I'm just going to apply to the principal of my loan amount. After explaining the plans/projects I had for the car they were quick to say there would most likely be a possibility of it being voided. I'm glad I at least got it cancelled within 2 months.
Thanks for the advice.

seeing this thread gives me the feeling like someone going into a lion pit (
service dept. at the dealer). No matter what someone (the service manager) tells you about the lion (
) doesn't bite you (voiding your warranty) even there had been so many causalities before. But you know....sooner or later...a lion is a lion....will bite your head off it feels like to....
Verbal agreement means almost next to nothing.....because even it is in writing
can still deny your warranty. What makes you think
won't deny your warranty with just a word of promise? A simple personnel change at the dealer will make your verbal agreement thus your ext. warranty gone.

Yes, I didn't realise you were intent on modding the car.....and now the dealership knows full-well what your intentions are. If you're not careful, you will end up going from 2 warranties to no warranties at all.

I had 6200 miles on the car at the time and had the car for about 3.5 months so I guess that equates to a loss of $300. Let me know how you make out.
Theoretically yes, but...........it can depend very much on the individual dealer. I know mine pretty well and they actively encouraged me to mod the car. They knew I wouldn't abuse it and/or drag it and they also knew that the mods were unlikely to cause major problems if the car wasn't abused. They were right. I've had it chipped from day 1 putting down significantly more power than stock (now 37k miles and almost 5 years old) and I've never had a mod-related problem (including the clutch). This was an Audi dealership though.
