EVO coming to US in January 2003

Whats up guys? Got some happy news

I just got back today (1-6-02) from the los Angeles Auto Show where Mitsubishi had the evo 7 in display. And big lettes said

"Lancer Evolution coming in January 2003".

They told me the car will have more than 250hp.

price

The price for the evo 7 should be in the high 20's and low 30's.

Even for 40000 $ the car will be dirt cheap compared to what you get, and more importantly compared to what we pay here in Europe

I'm pretty sure it'll have over 260hp. Personally i don't think people would buy on if it only came with 250hp and $30k. The 350z starts at $27k.

I agree...there's just way too much competition comin for them....there's no way they would price the car higher than $30k....they'd be puttin the nail in their own coffin.

US Evo

I read that the US spec Evo will detuned a bit to 252 hp, no ayc to make room for a larger fuel tank.

From: houston tx,
I can see the car costing 30 k with options, but having a base price around 24-26k. Hell, even the WRX with everything you can get for it costs more than 30 grand. I wont be pissed if it costs more than that if you get all the unnecessary crap. What I'll be pissed about is if they make Brembos and Recaros optional. It won't keep me from getting the car though.

Oh, and that AYC thing is just speculation. It sort of makes sense nonetheless. Alot of people that have the evo and AYC seem to dislike it, so it may end up being a blessing in disguise if we end up getting a mechanical LSD.

Optional Brembos would suck. But I personally could do without the Recaros. I won't feel as bad then when I strip the interior and put in Sparcos. And if it makes the price go down any i'm all for it.
