I wasn't going to do cams either until I found/realized 4 things:

- I got pulled on the highway by an evo that was virtually identical to mine except + 269 cams
- I got a great deal on some new/previously-owned 272 cams + gears
- I was told (and have heard) with properly set cam gears you can get the idle very stock-like (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...light=272+cams)
- And of course Major Power Gains

That's great. So I'm trying to help a guy who has to co-sign with his father to get a car, and was only able to do so by promising not to mod the car, but now he's only concerned about getting 350-380whp without his father knowing. You gotta be kidding me...I'm disgusted.

My father co-signed on my first car when I was 17 for a 1-year-old Cavalier that I could only afford because I was living at home. I didn't buy my Evo until I was making nearly 100k a year, and I still refuse to mod it as much as you due to reliability worries. If you get your car up to 350-380 hp then have engine, clutch, or tranny problems, then what? Sounds like you're on the same path to destruction as the Eclipse, but with a much more expensive car.

sorry that i dont make 100k a year like you....but oyu know what i am a performance enthusiast just like eveyrone on this board, and my whether my dad had to cosign for me to get the car then you know what thats my business, and has nothin to do with making 350whp WITHOUT cams....if you want to help out then my dad having to co sign for me shouldnt mean you shouldnt try to help out. So if my situation is an inconvinience to you or disgust you then why dont you just stay out of it.

Just add 264's, they are 100% stock in drivability and allow the 350 you wish to make.....

Uh, I would have "stayed out" had I known this from the beginning. It amazes me how you people can afford to have a car like this AND be able to mod it like crazy with no worry about what would happen if it broke down. Being a car enthusiast does not mean you have to be dumb. Someone in your situation has no business trying so hard to reach 350hp on pump gas. You should have been happy that your dad co-signed on such an expensive car, and then you should have kept your word. When it all comes crashing down, there will be no sympathy.

i dont need sympathy from you if it were to crash down...i can afford the mods...i can afford repairs...i can afford the monthly payment, i just dont have credit ok? now if you dont have anythin positive to add to the discussion, then by all means please dont further post.

on the other hand....i am thinkin 264s im just trying to avoid the double install fee or the double payin for the part when i am ready for the 272s.

to go slightly off topic, what do you guys think of adding cams to an otherwise stock car? Adviseable?

Try replacing your turbo with a supercharger. Supercharger is always the best I convertet my sc430 to supercharged. Cost me a hole lot o doh' but gave a whole lot of more hp.

I second that......converting an already forced-inducted car into another form of forced-induction is retarded......lay off the crack, buddy

Converting from a turbo to a supercharger is very stupid, instead go Twin-charged and drop both a Supercharger and turbo like that guy in the show & shine
