42 Draft Design Gauges too dim...

I just installed my 42 Draft Designs gauge kit with the VDO gauges and the illumination is pretty dull..i was expecting them to be brighter...also my dimmer isnt working the way i hooked it up so it may have somethin to do with it. anyone else have this issue?

I agree, they are a little dim. They are also a little too red when compared to the stock speedo/tach. I am going to try the clear LED's, and color the with red marker to see if that makes them a little brighter and closer to the stock gauges color.

Make sure they have enough power, and then try going with a different LED they sell.

FYI the red is too red, orange may be more appropriate, or maybe just go with white.

I think i may look into a higher wattage LED if possible. I wonder if the clear (bulbs) they give you with the gauges are any brighter...thanks for the input guys!

Any way you can measure the voltage at the LEDs?

Did you tap your dimmer switch or vehicle power?

Curious to know if you have full voltage at the LEDs or not
