Alright I'm hoping this is a normal thing...anyways, my car is brand new...only about 450 miles so far and now when I shift into second it cluncks. When I drove it off the dealer lot it shifted fine...I haven't driven the car aggresively at all either...This is my first stick shift car so I'm not sure about this kind of thing...I could sure use any kind of feedback I could get..Thanks
evo trannies suck?
actually mine makes a clunk noise sometimes too dont know if its the same as urs but it clunks into second and grinds into 3rd. the tech at the dealership of course said it shifts smooth so... watevers

The 2nd gear clunk seems normal with AWD cars and driving style.
It happens to me sometimes when I'm just bull**** driving. So I wouldn't worry about it. Especially since your car is under warranty.

If you still have your warranty and you aren't experiencing any problems in drivability i wouldnt sweat it. ITS GOING TO HAVE TO BE AT LEAST THREE TIMES AS BIG

Well I'm gettin my oil changed when I hit 500, I'll have the dealer check it out but I'm sure they are gonna say there's nothing wrong with it...If that's the case, I'll have Topspeed take a look at it...I wish I had MR syncros, might be a stupid question, but has anyone replaced their syncros with the MR's?

Hey when you guys are speaking of the 2nd gear clunk, is it more like the "let go of the gas in first and then it clunks when you depress the clutch" kind of clunk? I notice if I gas it in first sometimes and I depress the clutch it will make the clunk the moment i step on the clutch. A good example would be driving in a parking lot in a busy center. Please comment people!!
Lean to drive smoother and you will get less clunking - ergo experiment with different shifting techniques. Mine only clunks when I shift too hard (i.e. I get lazy and I'm not paying attention).

thank god that this post is out...I thought it was a problem but it seems that all you guys suffer from the same thing and I too thought it was my driing style too...
how can you expect them to fix it if you cant even fit through the door????
no really though this was my first stick too and youre probobly just sweating over minor sh*t like i was at first. every noise i heard i thought it was the end of the world. its not. the car is fine youll get used to weird noises but a clunk into second gear might just be the way you are shifting? mess around with rpms and speeds youll figure it out. if there really is a problem wait until its at least three times bigger.
