EVO 8 Pricing. Need your input on new purchase.

Hey Guys,

I am new to this forum and new to EVO's but I have had a eclipse that was pretty fast. I am looking to purchase a new EVO8 and was wondering if anyone out there can offer a suggestion to where I can buy one at a good price and maybe some of you can be gracious enough to list how much you paid for yours and if it was and RS, EVO8 or MR?

This is what I have found so far. I am in the Bay Area and found that I can get one for $29,999 plus tax and lic. This would be a barebone's 2005 EVO8 with no options, not an RS or MR.

This was the cheapest I found as everyone else is selling MSRP or higher. Did any of you pay invoice or cheaper? Where did you get the car? Any suggestions where I can get one? Can some of you list the year of your car, model and how much you paid? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies so far. I assume $29999 is a good price then?

yeah, I'd say that is a good price. A dealership is selling a base 2005 for $30K around my area.

Have you checked the Edmunds.com TMV? It is usually pretty damn accurate.

Pay as little as they'll let it go for. Since you're in the Yay Area, you'll probably pay more than the rest of the country, but still, lowball the hell out of them. Make it seem like you're not quite sure about buying it over a IX or STi and make them have to give you a great deal.

I was at the dealer the other day and looked over the rebate/incentive chart and if you can find an 04 there is like $1000 rebate, plus Mits will give you $500 rebate for customer loyalty, and recent college grad rebate ($500).

If you can't find an 04 then do the 05, tell em $28500 with the $500 loyalty rebate. Get a good rate, I just got 4.49 for 60mon. Are you trading in?

You will probably be able to get a better deal on the 05 the longer you wait. (but unfortunately waiting sucks)

FYI, you can only get the college grad rebate if you finance with Mitsu. I wasn't willing to do that, so I missed out, but I did get the $500 loyalty rebate.

I just bought a 2004 in early February and paid $27,500. I live in the Pittsburgh area. My dad got me the deal... He negotiated with the sales manager and it was actually a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. In my area hardly anyone has an Evo so I think that dealer really wanted to get rid of it. But anyway, if you can negotiate directly with the sales manager, I don't think you'll have a problem getting a deal. And if you're young like me (22), take an older relative with you otherwise they'll try to rape you.
