I mean, the Evo's aren't as much of a target by thieves for parts as Hondas are.

i'm 22 with no tickets ... no accidents nor any claims on my record. it shows that i'm married (not really) and a student ... and my insurance for a '03 oz rally is $134 per month ... i assume the Evo will be a little more. I'm also gonna look around town. You should just call some people and see about getting a quote .. ?

Having children lowers your insurance? By how much? I have an 8 month old and I don't recall ever telling the insurance company. Maybe, I need to call them.

But the performance numbers aren't so important to insurers. They want to know how likely thay will be to replace or repair a given car. So if you are young, you are more likely to wreck a car....so your insurance will be higher than others. If your car is likely to be stolen, your insurance will be higher than a car that is stolen less.
In my area, it would have cost me less to insure a Ferarri than the Type R I had.

I'm 22 w/ 1 ticket on my record, and The lowest quote I found for an '03 wrx was 1200+ for 6 months. All you guys under 25 with even 1 ticket, be prepared to pay that or more.. the average quote I got was 1500 for 6 months.

Per this thread... https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=12916
I said...
Ok, talked to my insurance agent and got some rates. Now keep in mind here people, I have some of the best possible variables when it comes to insurance. I am over 25, I live in an ultra-low car theft county, have 10+ years of continous accident free coverage and have no speeding tickets on my record...
Quoted as per MSRP: $451.40 every 6 months.
Quoted as a 2003 WRX: $516.50 every 6 months.
So, there it is. She is going to email the underwriter with information I gave her about the car and see if anything would change. I'll hear back from her today or tomorrow.

I'm 21 with 2 points on my record.
I was quoted $991 every 6 months for the EVO after I gave him the specs and told him it's comparable to a WRX. In july one of my points dissapears and my rate will be around 775 every 6 mo.. It really depends who your agent/insurance carrier is. Notice how a lot of people fall under the same category here as far as age/points/marital status go and the numbers still vary.

This all drastically depends on your location as well as your age. I bought my Prelude SH new in '99 (21 at the time), car cost $27,500, no tickets, never an accident, and I was paying $365 per month for insurance. Of course I live in a completely urban environment which is the most costly. That 25 cutoff age really does make quite a difference. When I turned 25 I nearly **** myself at how much my rates dropped. Just plan on it being expensive and if you end up being pleasantly suprised, no harm done.
