Insurance?

If you dont mind me asking, how much do you guys pay a month on insurance. Im looking at getting an evo 8 over my OZ for obvious reasons and can afford the payments, and think I can for insurance, but it is hard to get quotes easy. I know its going to be pretty high since Im 18, but I wanted to see around what Id be looking at with a perfect driving record.

I pay like $1600 every 6 months, I am 20 years old and have no accidents. Believe me having a perfect record being as young as me doesn't really seem to matter to the insurance companies. You might also want to factor in how much gas costs and how much you drive because that is also a big money eater. As well as general upkeep for the vehicle. Affording the evo is one thing, make sure you have enough cash to cover all the others....if not it's going to be rough.

I cant believe i am going to say this, but with the recent increase in insurance posts, a search would come in handy.

Fabolusiconz: I'd suggest changing carriers. You live in PA, i know insurance there is pretty dirt cheap. Unless, you are with a good provider. Check your coverages. Raise your deductibles to 500 and probably save 300 bucks or more.

Most teenagers in the south and midwest (depending) will see very low rates.

left you really cant go off of what other people pay. Check with others that live in your state. BEcause i gaurentee you an 18 year old in jersey wll pay 5 grand vs an 18 year in missouri who will pay 1200.

are you 18? are you really paying for full coverage (if you're 18) or is mom reducing that cost?

We just had a GIGANTIC thread on this yesterday. Not only could you have searched, but you could have just looked a little ways down the list of threads.

Anyway, you can bet on your insurance for the Evo being about the same as your monthly OZ payment. On your own insurance, even with high deductibles, you will pay anywhere from 200-400 a month on insurance, depending on your location. State alone does not matter...it's the city/area/metro you live within. When I moved from NC to Northern VA, my insurance doubled, just as an example.

To answer your question, I don't pay monthly, but my annual insurance is about $1760 while married at the age of 29, and that includes a 2005 Evo MR and a 2004 Lexus GX470. That comes out to $147/mo using USAA. I get this benefit for the rest of my life, since I'm former military, but you can also get coverage from USAA if you have parents or grandparents who were in the military.

Again, Im going to post this...U can't compare insurance with people form across different states! It's completely useless! There are so many different factors that determine insurance prices that it makes ZERO sense to do this.

Ya I'm really paying full coverage, and I'm 20. Why is that hard to believe?

Actually I'm under my dads policy so that helps out alot. Evo is $100 cheaper than his camry to insure.

The reason why i am asking, is because the kid is 18. For all of you who are posting you're 20, 22, 24...30. It does him no good. He's 18, lives in AZ which will most likely have lower rates than most states.

It also helps if you're under NJM or Geico. A) one is hard to get into and has great rates and B) in B if you go with the other carrier, youll probably be dropped and has competitive rates to competitive carriers.

Maybe the original poster doesnt have the plushness of having a top notch know someone to get in policy.

It makes the whole comparison much easier to provide specifics, no?

good night.
