window tint removal

I got a ticket because my tint is too dark, 20%. I just got it done about 3 weeks ago, so I'm hoping it won't be too hard.
Has anyone here removed tint from their car before? Any tips?

i removed mine (front both windows) after 2 months i had them on...it really depends on the quality of the tint...if high quality...u can take it from top corner and peel it off just like u'd peel a sticker off from the silky paper behind the sticker...that goes for the windows...rear windshield...i'd recommend u get it done professionally...cuz of the de-froster lines...i heard u can really mess them up.

after u remove the tint u might have glue left there...go to autozone and get "oops" solution and no lint towels...just fold the towel and wet it with oops...and make sure its wet...and get the glue wet and the rub it off with dry part of the towel...just did that today

Take a black garbage bag, and tape it to the inside of the windows. Leave the car out in the sun for a few hours and the glue that holds the tint on should be sort of gummy from the heat. The heat from the sun will be absorbed by the black garbage bags. That should make it easier to remove.

Thanks guys for the fast replies.

Is the back windshield very hard with the defroster lines??? The tinters did a good job and got the tint in front of the brake light too, I was hoping that would be the hardest thing to get off.

my friend is a window tinter and that is how he removed my tint.

it was two years old on my old car. Hes one of the best tinters around. People will drive over two hours just to get him to do their cars. I trust everything he says.

razor blade the tint and then peel it off the window. your gonna have glue residue left on the glass, but dont worry, its easy to take off with simple bottle of windex.
i first tried goo gone and that took forever. switch to windex and wiped the glue off with a rag. took no time at all.

Pay the ticket and keep the tint. I have mine at a tunnel-vision-inducing 4% -- I consider the tickets my "dark tint subscription service"

now thats a better idea, instead of trying to remove it. cause once its off , your gonna want it back on anyways. and that will cost you

Thought of keeping it. But, I also received a warning for my exhaust (no cat). He saw me before he heard me and so I dont want to start receiving tickets for both.
