help with a ticket?
help with a ticket?
hey guys well tonight i got my first ticket ever :\ while i was driving my friends corolla (at least it wasn't the evo) home. I was on the 91W (California) near Valleyview and apparently i was doing 81 in a 65 (according to his pacing) on a completely barron freeway. Anyways I looked over some of the other threads for information towards contesting it but I wanted to know some of your guy's opinions as to what you think my options are. I figure at first I will try to do the trial by written declaration than appear in court if that does not work. in the written declaration is there anything i can point out that would help me that would say that somehow my speeding wasnt dangerous enough to merit a ticket and perhaps just a warning? or to at least reduce to fine or anything? i didnt admit guilt or any of those things and theres no real notes on the ticket..so any ideas?
of the research i've done ive come up with these possible pleas...what do you think?
"Ask the officer as to the exact distances covered from the time the officer began to pace the speed of your vehicle until you were stopped. You would also want to know the estimated distance between the two vehicles at all times. Review the math and see if the officer actually had to speed up in order to close the distance between your vehicles before he pulled you over. It's possible he could have used the accelerated speed and used that speed as the basis for the ticket. "
-would the officer be required to know these specifics like the distance between us and all?
secondly could someone point me to the definition of "pacing" and what is required for an officer to do give a ticket based on it-ive heard it requires 2 officers and some other stuff but im not really sure
lastly if i take it to court what are some of the things to look out for that i could call objection to? (like the officer reading from the ticket or representing say another officer who was there when i got pulled over but not present at court?)
thanks!

hahahahahah what are u on. "I wasnt speeding enough to warrrent a ticket or kill anybody." 81 is still 81 and the speed limit will still be 65. The judge will laugh at u and fine u regardless. If you had a chance to get out of the ticket that stopped when the cop started to write the ticket after that it is a done deal. best thing u can do is to go and contest the ticket and make them earn the money. Sorry to be so harsh, but so is reality.
if ur in need, a grand per point for dismissal. if not, you should be able to get off with minimum fines and traffic school. nothing too major you're dealing with. i'm gonna guess a few hundred bucks outta ur pocket for court fines. just a ballpark.

Just Pay It And Go To Traffic School !!!
If You Fight It And U Loose Than U Dont Have Chance To Go To Traffic School And So That Will Go On To Your Record.

Did he use the radar detector? If he did argue when was the last time he/she calibrated it.
If no radar was used, then your chances are way higher since it was just an estimate. You can use that it was nighttime and no one has perfect vision.
Goodluck.
I myself will be challenging a ticket too for having a stock exhaust(he said it was modified) and speeding(estimated)
