Autocross. I'm not that good yet but I'm learning. The evo should be the car to beat this year in street tire class because of the cushy STU index. I just don't get how so many people drag race this heavy AWD rally car with such an awesome factory suspension. Get sideways people!

you need to add like... backroads/canyon... cuz street racing is usually associated with drag racing... and although cayon racing is actually technically rally... you could maybe narrow it down to tarmac rally? plus... rally has that connotation of breaking stuff in the dirt.

If you do canyon races (I mean real canyon races), you are crazy as ****.

Obviously Street and Drag Racing will be winning, as that's the what we do on the East Coast. Left Coast, "best coast," is where most amateur road racing goes on. We do that club stuff here, just not as much.

There is a couple smooth wide twisty roads in/near my city. I beat on my car on those roads after 9pm every once in a while. I know it's not the safest thing. If I had $ I would do road courses as often as I could. Im not much of a drag racing guy but I do it at the track and on the street every once in a while (only on the street if it's an open road w/ no traffic).

Road racing all the way. So far, I've driven my EVO at:

1. Sears Point - Infineon Racway
2. Willow Springs Int'l Raceway (big track)
3. Thunderhill Raceway Park
4. Buttonwillow Raceway
5. California Speedway Roadcourse ("ROVAL")
6. Laguna Seca
7. Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch (Nevada)
8. Streets of Willow

All are in Calif. except #7. If you haven't tried road racing, find a good performance driving school and go for it. It's the most fun you will ever have with your clothes on.

It's not that heavy really...

2005 Corvette - 3245lbs despite all the aluminum and less doors/interior space.
2005 Mustang Gt - 3483lbs
2005 G35 Coupe - 3512lbs
2005 Neon SRT-4 - 2970lbs
2005 Subi STi - Same as Evo
2005 Pontiac GTO - 3725lbs

Relatively speaking, the Evo is pretty light for a 4-door car with 4 doors, but it is still best suited for the curves as you say.
