i feel guilty if i accept the 4k a year for insurance from my dad

we're rich, but not so rich that we can throw money down the sh!thole

-the evo i drove was a silver one, with about 29,000 miles on it, and i could tell the clutch was a little worn out and the brakes were worn out.

DAMN im very jealous of all you EVO owners out there, it was such a fun car to drive and it was an easy sitck

THANKS ALL FOR THE HELP AND ADVICE

On kelley blue book a used excellent condition 03' Evo with 30k miles is listed at being worth above $24k

I guess theres a million factors to consider and be knowledgable in buying a used high performance car... but me personaly; I go by what my dad always told me: "when you buy used, you buy other peoples problems as well"...of course if you are knowlogable, then go for the EVO if it all clears

Actually i was talkin to the creator of this thread for not getting a used STi/EVO over a new WRX. sorry if it came out snotty. Im not gonna break my back over another "parents bought my car argument" because mine did, but i dont flaunt it like some of you guys might think we do. oh well, throw in the ole " i drove a such in such ****box when i was 19" comment now, because i dont really care. I drove a 92 camry, not like i went straight to the top.

It's all good either way. He's been trying to make this desicion for about 9 months now!

And we have a winner! At the very least it proves that you do some research before making your desicions. Well done. That insurance is going to be a fat bill evo or wrx, because they are performance cars and you have novice driving experience.
You say 4k for evo? How much per year for a brand spanky new wrx?

If you're smart you can buy used and get a good deal. I had very very minor problems with my evo, it had 20k on the clock when I bought it, has 25k now. I had warped rotors, they fixed them under warranty, and all is well.

I wouldn't dare take my car in for warranty work now though, I've got way too many mods.

hahaha, you make me sound too good, i didn't hold bakc for "research" my dad just plain didn't accept my grades.

i over heard my dad on the phone, and he said 2500 a year for insurance and im assuming that is the price before discounts.

since the EVO 9 is coming out soon, i think i can get a really good deal on the evo 8. this delaer keeps calling me about a black evo with 29,000 miles on it 2003, stock everything maybe except rims.

im gonna lowball him, and be like " look sir, i can't buy this car, the EVO9 is coming out, it has 30k miles on it, the previous owner more than likely whipped it, plus im gonna have to replace the clutch and otehr things later... i'll give you $19,500 for this thing."

maybe i can get an evo for $19,500 that woudl be the deal of the century
