no i have to sell it, im addicted to street racing and everytime i drive i have to punch it so i want to do it for my own good, i think my wife is more important than a stupid car (i wouldnt have said that 2 years ago)
*sigh* the sounds of a broken man. Exercise self control and keep your car and yourself in check.

Thats all I do, is a friend and I will be stopped at a light then when it changes to green we will take off and see who pulls away until we get to the speed limit, and thats it.

Hopfully cops don't consider that 'street racing' for the fact that we don't get much over the speed limit.
I was going to ask you the same question too... if its going 0 to 60 in 5.6 ~seconds, on a 50mph limit road, where there is not much traffic, and not that much people walking on the road, i wouldnt find that something wrong, but if it were going past 60, lets say going until 80 - 100mph on a 50mph limit road, that is just plain stupid and dumb.

But bottom line is, for me, if there were 2 ferraris that were stopped in a stop light, then when it turns green, they both take off and accelerate, BUT STOP accelerating when they hit the speed limit, that is not something bad and i wouldnt define that as dangerous.. HOWEVER, if there were two kia rios at a stop light, then both take off going up to 80mph, racing with each other, that is what i define as DANGEROUS./

yeah. accelerating fast till you hit the speed limit is cool. especially if you stop on the side of a 75 mph highway to pretend you are "broken down" but the just take off

I'm glad as crap and lucky that I didn't get caught today. I was doing 80 in a 40 at one point, slowed down to 60 when I passed a cop and continued at that speed for about 40 seconds while the cop was following me in the next lane over. Yeah I was in my Lancer but I was nerverous as crap. The path in front of me was WIDE open, that's why I did it, but I know that's not justification for my actions.

Launching from a light could be considered a speed competition and would result in punishment by law in some states.

nowadays, the term street racing is overused. racing for money or slips is street racing, someimes i do a little 'spirited driving'l, and ther happens to be someone behind trying to keep up!
You're just too fast and too furious for us! Please, put down the NoS sticker, stop watching movies, and stop trying to be a know it all. Street racing is exactly that, racing on the street.

Every time a streetcar goes by, there are 10 women on it that want to zuck your duck. If your wifey is that upset about such a minor incident, she is useless. Ditch the Baitch and keep the EVO !!!

I wouldn't call spending, time in jail a minor offense...no offense to those of you without wives.

Then a year from now you talk her into getting an Evo IX. You're going to have to convince her that you are never going to street race ever again and how you'll only track the car once in a while. Good luck bro god knows you need it.
what a load of crap... not to say that this guys wife is not a nice person, but i agree street racing is illegal but it is not worst thing in the world. I think DUI/DWI are retarded and should be punished much more severly. i am not some masochistic fool I just believe that no one in a relationship has the right to make someone do something they dont.
but whatever... if you feel that it is for the best then by all means, but do it for yourself not for her

"Exhibition of speed"... a 6 point violation in NJ, and you don't have to exceed the speed limit to do it. If the officer can a: audibly hear your engine racing, or b: see/hear your tires smoking/squealing, you can get hit with this fine, and you don't even have to be competing against someone to get it.

Get the cop to admit that he saw you smoking your tires, then burn him on how your car can't possibly do this as it is awd, then ask him why he made up stuff and get the case thrown out
