Slotted rotors + "old pads"

ok i recently made a thread asking if i should let my project mu pads which had contact with my warped rotors and that "glazed" stuff got on the pad, so i got slotted rotors and was concerned if i should let that glazed project mu pad touch my slotted rotors, so i asked on here and people told me that the slots would get rid of the glazed crap immediately, well its been like 2 weeks and my brakes squeek, whast the deal? what should i do now. i hate this brake issue, its getting on my nerves cuz i keep having to spend more money on them

I would recommend new pads.

What's up with warped rotors and EVO. I thought brembos was suppose to be good. My steering wheels shakes like crazy when braking at high speed. Mit sucks!! I can't say enough about them.

Yeah you either need that blue squeal stop stuff, or the shims from the original pads if you still have 'em.

I've had powerslot rotors in the past and they seem to wear down the pads quicker. I used the brake quiet paste too and it worked really good.

i used brake quiet, and i have the factory shims on the back of the pads, and that brake quiet stuff is on it and feels like rubber after it dries, anyways, when i lookd at the rotor, i can see small lines on the rotor, thinking maybe that glaze crap is scratching up my rotor, possible? anyways, if u guys think its not the pad itself then i might try that brake quiet again. let me know people thx!

LOL you should see my stock rotors...they looks like records. I've got 26,500 on complete stock brakes. They moan a little bit like normal, and I've heard a squeak or two, but nothing hinting that I need to replace 'em yet.

The powerslots wear pads down faster because the slots scrape the pads. It's supposed to do that so the pads always stay clean. There's always a trade off I guess...

so what everyone is saying is that my solution is the anti squeek stuff? what is it exactly called? i'll prob grab some from autozone today. Let me know! i really thought it was the glaze on the pads making the squeeking sound, hmm. my anti squeek stuff is pink i got it from autozone.

Which Project Mu pads do you have?

I've got the B-Force pads (F+R) and they squeal like all hell. I've tried everything I could think of... sanding down the pads and rotors, using more anti-squeal grease, new floating shims, new copper springs, even adding and subtracting shims from the back of the pad. I've tried the above techniques with EBC greenstuff pads, Ferodo DS2500 and the Project Mu pads. All 3 pads produce the same results. I've pretty much given up on having quiet brakes.

project Mu pads are high performance pads. High performance pads squeak / squeal like crazy sometimes. I have the Project Mu Titan Kai, which are 150% better than the stock **** they had on there, they squeal like hell probably 75% of the time, but I know I have better stopping power.

If you want to run high performance pads, you are going to have to put up with squeaking from time to time.
