Aftermarket parts
Hello all... We are currently developing products for the E8 and I wanted to get some feed back on what you (the customer) will be looking for. We currently have the following products finished or in the final testing stages; Intake, hard pipe kit, down pipe, exhaust, high flow cat, clutch disc & plate, and brake rotors. I would like to see what you guys might want or if you think we are missing something. Please let us know. We will be making everything for the car. We have years of experience with Evos' and the most experience in the US with the E7. Give us your opinion.

ahh, ECU programed for the stages? OR a piggyback programable unit. Dont' know hows the evo's computer going to react but you know we're interested in raising boost after warrentee period runs out of course
I think the factory's variable exhause looks excellent. Probably only interested in off road pipe and downpipe for the racers out there.

I think to pass U.S. crash test they have pretty substantial front/rear bumper beams in place. If so, then a beam replacement or removal kit would be nice. Like a lighter weight beam or some mounts for the bumper cover to replace the beam altogether. That would help get rid of some excess polar weight.
Although you would compormise the crashworthiness of the car, I don't know how much good one of those beams does in any real-speed impact anyways. I think they're mainly to pass the 2.5mph bumper test, right? And I'm pretty sure racing cars don't have those beams after seeing footage of many a Peugeot 206 WRC with their rear bumper covers trailing behind.

gtr: screw the warranty.
Seriously I saw an article in SCC that said the same thing and I tend to agree. Do you want to modify an engine that is young and fresh, or one that has 36,000 or 3 years of beating put on it? And if you mod the car out of warranty, you pay to fix any damage out of pocket. If you mod the car under warranty, you pay to fix any damage out of pocket. No difference. Finally, I don't think dealers can deny a warranty claim on an unmodified portion of the vehicle. So if your A/C doesn't work, they can't blame the aftermarket suspension you put in, etc.
Sorry for going off-topic... I do agree with gtr that ECU upgrades would be nice. Either remapped factory ECU or just sell an aftermarket ECU along with some RMR tuned base maps that are known to work well onthe Evo.

How about Altezza lights? Oh wait, it already has those.
Slotted brake rotors (stock size)
Front strut tower brace (with RMR on it... free advertising!)
Short-shift kit (adjustable would be nice)

Short-shift kit (adjustable would be nice)
1) programable ECU replacement like the AEM or Apexi PFC.\
2) some sort of alternative to a-piller or din slot pod (don't know if is possible)
3) thicker & thinner anti-roll bars
4) downpipe w/o cat & high flow exhaust
5) intake
6) turbo replacement (is the stock trubo replaceable with other units without replaceing the whole kit - all my turbo experience is with fds)
7) coilovers would be nice too..
8) 4 pt harness kit that snaps into the rear seatbelts
9) oh, and really big cup holders!

The carb process can take up to a year with a new car like the evo. So we are going to start the process for the intake and hard pipes (if needed), but it won't be for awhile.
