You should be fine just as long as your CEL light is not lite. I had mine done and I have NO CAT but the Perrin O2 Sim and my car was LOUD as HELL! and I passed without any questions asked. But it was like 5mins before they closed so i think they didnt really care. they didnt look under the hood or anything.

Haha, I just recently got one of my buddies to take it to a shop where he knows he could get it done. Sad to say and it is illegal but it worked for me.

As long as you dont have a check engine light on and you have A cat on the car, you will pass. All they look for in Md is a visual inspection with a mirror under the car to make sure there is a cat on the car. Doesnt have to be stock, and they make sure your check engine light isnt on (and the bulb actually works).

Yeah, just be sure that you have a cat in there and no check engine lights. I'm sure your gas cap is OK.

if you know how cams work you will realize that all they do is make the engine breath better by letting more air go in and more air go out, that means falling emission using the sniffer. It will fail using cams in VA. VA is very strict and getting close to cali.

Anyone here from Missouri? How strict is the emission tests there. (I don't live in St. Louis or surroundiing areas where emission testing is very strict).

In California, you don't have to get a smog test in a new car for 6 years. So why would you care if you can pass smog? My EVO will be a melted hunk of junk in way less than 6 years.

would it help to run two cats in place of the test pipe. like back to back. because the way i see it if yo filter it once and you barely fail, filtering it twice shold do the trick. and make the test pipe lie a 1 1/2 inches too.

For sure, you'll need a cat, no question about that.

However, I'm a little concerned regarding the 269 cams. I know I've been told that WORKS 269 cams will pass smog. But ultimately, isn't it something that a slightly modified tune can fix in the short term? If we really would have to replace the cams with stockers, then I'd probably like to get them sooner than later... after all, 2009 will come sooner than we expect (for us 03 owners), and I'd like to enjoy the cams as long as possible.
