tb? You're dead, don't even try.

Put a temp stock cat or high flow cat back in, baby it to the test, baby it back, then swap it all out.

When I go in for emissions (Oct) in VA, I'm probably going to swap my stock exhaust back on... at least cat+catback

I don't know... Another local member in VA just traded his car in and it failed w/TBE and 269 cams. I think they're putting the stock exhaust on to see if it makes a difference (with the cams still in). Works says their cams passed CA emissions with stock exhaust, so the exhaust may be the testbreaker. I'm waiting to find out the verdict...

You will likely not pass with the cams. Your best bet is to put the STOCK Cat back on, not a aftermarket one and hope for the best. I barely failed a few years ago in maryland with cams in my eclipse after I had put the stock cat back on. Without the stock cat, you might as well not go. Md is semi harsh with its requirements, althought not as bad as NY. Honestly, and this is illegal, but if you know someone who works at the emissions station, they can be paid off. As much as I hate to admit it, thats how I've passed on several occassions.

cams may affect the results as far as the sniff test is concern... here in california... i've heard of a few guys with a 'special' tune that allowed them to pass in ca... but then again... CA is pretty strict and i'm not familiar w/VA's emission laws

I don't know how Maryland handles their emissions, but i know in Pa, they don't do sniff tests on 03+ vehicles, they only do an OBDII plug in, and if a code is throw for a lack of catalytic converter you will fail that. But even if you pass that there is still the visual. So it depends on how friendly the shop is that your dealing with. Best bet is look for a small shop that is able to do this.

So really if the shop is cool and you have no cel on for the lack of cat. your good to go.
